Depression and mood disorders higher in kids that have sustained a concussion.

Mild brain injuries associated with mental, behavioral issues in children Mild traumatic brain injuries may raise the risk for affective and behavioral disorders in children, according to research published in Pediatrics.

According to an article in the Journal of Attention Disorders, vision disorders are more common in kids with ADHD.

In the large study on over one million people under age 22, patients with ADHD had an increase prevalence of 11 of 16 visual conditions compared to those not taking medication for ADHD.

Another interesting point, more than 1/4 of the study participants had a vision disorder.

Which leads me to ask, is it a vision problem or ADHD?

New study on the benefits and symptom improvements of 13 therapeutic diets for ASD has been published in the Journal of Personalized Medicine!

Key Points:
1. Therapeutic diets had an overall benefit, including a significantly higher benefit than medications, and even nutraceuticals.
2. Some of the top diets were the GFCF diet, the ketogenic diet, the Feingold diet and a healthy diet, along with low sugar, SCD/GAPS, paleo and more.
3. Different diets improved different symptoms; therefore, symptoms may be useful when guiding which diets might be most beneficial for an individual.
4. A personalized nutrition approach is an effective way to guide nutrition intervention.
5. Children and adults with ASD that used therapeutic diets had significant improvement in autism severity vs. individuals that did not.

Have you heard about myopia? This eye disorder affects millions of people worldwide, causing blurred distance vision. It is also known as short-sightedness or near-sightedness.
Myopia often starts in childhood, where it progressively worsens and causes frequent changes in vision. But a pair of glasses isn't the whole story. Higher levels of myopia increase the risk of eye diseases and vision problems in adulthood. If your child already wears glasses, you can do something to protect their vision and eye health. If they don't you can assess their risk of developing myopia.
