Smoked salmon salad with grapeseed oil. Grapseed has good benefits for our health and for our skin. It reduces insulin resistance, helps with weight loss, it's full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, it moisturizes the skin and helps control acne. I use it in both food and skin care. The one for skin is different than the one for food. HomeGoods is my favorite store get cooking oils.

Having greens for dinner is always a healthy choice!

My kids don't eat eggs for breakfast. But they love French toast and pancakes. So I had to come up with a twist to make it a little healthier and fun. Added chia seeds for more proteins, omega 3 fatty acids, and vitamin B12, calcium, fiber, and other minerals. Also added shredded coconut, cinnamon, and nutmeg for fun. I recommend trying!

Why do we need protein foods?

All foods made from seafood; meat, poultry, and eggs; beans, peas, and lentils; and nuts, seeds, and soy products are considered part of the Protein Foods Group. Beans, peas, and lentils are also part of the Vegetable Group.

Select a variety of protein foods to improve nutrient intake and health benefits, including at least 8 ounces of cooked seafood per week. Young children need less, depending on their age and calorie needs. The advice to consume seafood does not apply to vegetarians. Vegetarian options in the Protein Foods Group include beans, peas, and lentils, processed soy products, and nuts and seeds. Meat and poultry choices should be lean or low-fat.
