A further glimpse into Internacionales UNL’s student Malena’s time at Kingston University’s Summer School, facilitated by International Network of Universities - INU.
INU's 25th anniversary logo design winner, Malena from Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Argentina has arrived in London! Malena decided to use the $2,000 competition award from INU to study in London on Kingston University's Summer School Program. Malena commented ""My experience so far is truly extraordinary. It is the first time that I have taken a trip so far from home, to another continent, with a totally different culture. The university is incredible, everyone welcomed me very well, they are very friendly, and the teachers are really passionate about their profession. I was very insecure at first, I didn't have much time to prepare myself with the language, besides it was a totally new experience for me. But I am very happy that I decided to participate in the Kingston University Summer School, I enjoy every class and the excursions are amazing! Also, every day I am improving my English and I was able to meet great people on this trip."
Getting Ready to Go! Today, more than 50 INU Student Seminar Participants met online for a Pre-Departure Briefing prior to arrival in Hiroshima. It was a chance to familiarise ourselves with the program, ask questions, meet students and speakers from INU member universities across the world - and most importantly, share recommendations to try different types of Okonomiyaki! Thank you to everyone for joining across multiple time zones!
It's Throwback Thursday! With two weeks to go until our 25th Anniversary INU Leaders' Summit 2023 hosted by Hiroshima University, we look back to our last Summit in Hiroshima in 2015 with University Presidents from across INU network discussing their internationalization priorities and the value of INU network in helping achieving this.
An international collaboration between INU member Universities, James Madison University in USA and Malmö University in Sweden gives design students from both universities fresh cultural perspectives, networks and experiences to make use of in the future. A great example of INU collaborative projects for students, led by staff developing cross-border initiatives at member universities.
"Our students are inspired by new design ideas and use industrial design in Scandinavia as reference. Sustainability, in particular, is an area we hope they will feel connected to after their visit to Sweden. Sustainability is very integrated into Swedish design. The students make connections they will cultivate over time, and the scaffolding is there to future collaborations and design projects," says Justin Henriques Ph.D. and Associate professor of Engineering at James Madison University.
Fruits of international collaboration | Staff INTERNATIONALISATION. Frequent meetings have sparked a promising collaboration between the graphic design programme the School of Arts and Communication (K3) and a programme in the same subject in the USA.
