Music Therapy Services of Waukesha County, LLC is seeking Board Certified Music Therapists for immediate hire. We are hiring for the equivalent of 2 full time positions, which can be divided into salaried positions at 20 hours per week or more.

Working in community-based music therapy requires a strong sense of ethics, self-management, proactive problem-solving skills, adaptability, flexibility, and a strong desire to work with clients and families to foster self-determination.

Clients include children and adults with autism and/or other developmental disabilities. Settings include clinic, schools, adult day programs, and client residences. Our current staff of 8 music therapists support each other to provide best practices and documentation procedures, with the client at the heart of our practice.

Viable candidates for this position will possess:
• Registration with the State of Wisconsin (if not registered, registration assistance will be provided)
• A valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle
• A strong desire to work in a variety of settings with a diverse client base
• Experience in providing music therapy services to those with autism and/or developmental disabilities
• Knowledge or experience with the Wisconsin Medicaid Waiver programs for children and adults (we are willing to teach as needed)
• Strong self-management and problem-solving skills

MTSWC, LLC provides the following benefits:
• Travel instruments/equipment specific to caseload
• Paid travel, documentation, and prep time
• Mileage reimbursement at maximum IRS rate
• Flexibility in your weekly schedule/PTO (please note that providing services to children will require some after-school hours)
• Simple IRA with company match
• 50% reimbursement of monthly private health insurance premiums up to
$200/month (if needed)
• Selected reimbursement for CMTE’s/conferences
• Full or Part-time salary will commensurate with experience

What makes MTSWC, LLC unique? Beginning as a private practice in 1993 and incorporated into MTSWC, LLC in 1999, we have established a strong reputation for client-centered practice, which prioritizes the privacy of the client. Most referrals come by word-of-mouth, which negates the need to advertise. Many clients have maintained a long term relationship with our company, as we work to grow with the client through stages and changes in their lives. The low turnover of clients and a lengthy wait list necessitate adding new team members to our stellar staff of MT’s.

If you are looking for a unique experience in your music therapy practice and have a strong desire to make a difference for individuals in southeastern Wisconsin, please send a resume with references and a letter of interest to Nancy Dexter-Schabow at [email protected]. You may reach out for more information by phone or text to 414/651-0011.

Sending strength and electric goodness to those still without power! 💖⚡️

07/26/2021

We just want to take a moment at the start of this week to say thank you to all of our clients and families who have been flexible with services this year. You are so loved and appreciated.

We also want to extend a huge thank you to all of the people on our lengthy waiting list for your patience and interest in our services. This has been quite a bizarre year and we hope to hire a few new stellar therapists to help us address this wait. You are not forgotten!

07/20/2021

Due to the wide variety of client needs and abilities that we serve, we remain committed to providing a safe space. Similar to other health care providers, our therapists will remain masked and sessions remain staggered to allow for effective disinfection between clients in the clinic as well as in the community. We appreciate everyone’s assistance while we continue to navigate through this!

07/02/2021

After a long hiatus, we are back in the virtual world. We hope you are all healthy, happy and safe. Sending lots of love to all.

Love,
Your friendly neighborhood MTSWC therapists 🎶💖

CALL TO ACTION UPDATE AND REPOST:
As of today, we do not have a decision on CLTS funding for music therapy services. Please continue to encourage folks to call or write into Secretary Rhoades, as it seems there is still time for the public to be heard!

There is one important correction in the Call for Action: the CORRECT address for Secretary Rhoades is [email protected]. (The correction has also been made in the attached Call to Action.) Our apologies for the error. An older e-mail address was pulled from a Google search, as there is not contact information listed for the Secretary on the DHS website.

Thanks to everyone for this huge effort to protect meaningful services for ALL kids who benefit from music therapy in Wisconsin!
