This topic comes up with a lot arguments, which I don't intend to take part in, especially with the one concerning spiritual spouses.

Hear this: when you fill your room with garbage, day by day, no matter how much you try to dispose of the rats and cockroaches, even more will find their ways back in, because of the irresistible attraction your filthy room presents to them. Then you finally cleaned and mopped your room, fresh air zooming in and out. Believe me, even if you catch these rats and throw them back in, they will find a way to run out, because it is against their nature to stay in a clean environment.

This illustration is our reality relating to demonic possession and deliverance. You can't cling to immorality and complain about spiritual spouse or other kind of demonic possession, because your filthiness is a command to these spirits to inhabit in you; as your cleanliness does the opposite.

Your first step to deliverance, and maybe all that you need, is to purge yourself of immorality, consequently, bad spirits will start loosing their grip of you. This reminds me of a girl I came across, who wanted to get rid of her alleged spiritual husband right from her boyfriend's house, where immorality was the order of the day. Let's stop deceiving ourselves; you can't have it both ways — immorality and deliverance!

Cleanliness is next to Godliness, paraphrases to, clean environment (body) attracts Godly spirit. Vice versa.
