PennDOT announced that stormwater improvements are planned in our district from Monday, August 26th through late September from 9am-3pm.
A weekday lane closure is scheduled on County Line Road between Route 332 (Jacksonville Road) and Madison Avenue in Warminster Township, Bucks County and Hatboro Borough, Montgomery County.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange is accepting applications for a fully funded scholarship from the U.S. Department of State and German Bundestag for 210 American high school students to spend an academic year in Germany for 2025-26!

As part of Shapiro’s $51 million investment into PA transportation infrastructure, Hatboro Borough received $597,719 from the Multimodal Transportation Fund to replace the West Monument Bridge on Monument Avenue.
I am thankful to have these funds used in our district because projects like the West Monument Bridge replacement are essential to our community’s growth and prosperity. It will improve safety and accessibility for Hatboro residents and also support economic growth by ensuring that our transportation networks are robust and reliable.
The Keystone State Challenge Academy is now accepting applications for the January 2025 Class. For 3 years, I have served on the Advisory Board of this incredible program and encourage any teen eligible, to submit an application! The KSCA is designed to give academically challenged teens a second chance at obtaining their basic education, learn leadership, self-discipline, and responsibility to build a better life. The program is open to 16- to 18-year-old Pennsylvania residents who are failing to progress in high school or may not be on a clear path to graduating.

SEPTA is reinstating parking fees Beginning September 23rd!

Be sure to mark the date to prevent getting ticketed! Parking in lots will be $2 and pay stations will accept credit/debit cards, contactless payment (Apple, Google, Samsung Pay) as well as mobile payment through a dedicated app.

DETOURS DURING CONSTRUCTION:
Full Closure: Friday, August 23, 2024, at 9:00 AM, through Monday, August 26, 2024, at 8:00 PM: To facilitate construction during this round-the-clock closure, Byberry Road between Audubon Avenue and Blakeslee Drive will be detoured for the duration of the project, with access for local traffic only.
Traffic detour will be posted and maintained for the duration of the renewal project. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. At no time will access to local businesses adjacent to the crossing and private property be barricaded.
Byberry Road motorists will be directed to use Philmont Avenue and Bustleton Avenue.

On Tuesday, staffers Megan and Ryan attended a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly improved Roslyn Park in Abington Township. Approximately $225,000 of HUD Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds were used to revitalize the basketball court and playground equipment as well as make safety and accessibility improvements. Kids were also invited to attend the Pop-up Library put on by Abington Township Public Library. Penn State Abington's Launch Box program was also in attendance and provided several science themed activities!

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission scheduled public input hearings for proposed rate increases by Aqua Pennsylvania and Aqua Pennsylvania Wastewater in August.
There will be two telephonic hearings at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14.
