It was my first time experiencing it, even though it was virtually. I learned so much! 👩🏼‍🏫

🌟 Celebrating Juneteenth 🌟

Today, we honor Juneteenth, a significant day in American history. On June 19, 1865, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation, the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, were finally informed of their freedom. This day marks the true end of slavery in the United States and is a celebration of resilience, freedom, and the ongoing fight for equality.

As I reflect on this important day, I am reminded of the words of Fannie Lou Hamer, a courageous civil rights leader who called Mississippi home: "Nobody's free until everybody's free." These powerful words serve as a reminder of the work that remains and the importance of continuing the fight for justice and equality for all.

I feel privileged to share this day of reflection and celebration. Let's honor the past, recognize the progress made, and commit to a future where freedom and equality are realities for everyone.
