What is the advantage or disadvantage of feeding the ego? Is it real? Is it sustainable? Life based on fear or love? Ego is your thoughts and feelings conscious or unconscious....
so
You have read this before but is worth repeating.....

“A Cherokee elder was teaching his young grandson about life.
"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil- he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt and ego.
The other is good- he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.
This same fight is going on inside you—and inside every other person, too."
The boy thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,
"Which wolf will win?"
The elder simply replied,
"The one you feed.”

What are you doing to move beyond your bias’s?

T. S. Eliot wrote, “human kind cannot bear very much reality.”
“One of the keys to wisdom is that we must recognize our own biases, our own addictive preoccupations, and those things to which, for some reason, we refuse to pay attention. Until we see these patterns (which is early-stage contemplation), we will never be able to see what we do not see. Without such critical awareness of the small self, there is little chance that any individual will produce truly great knowing or enduring wisdom.” Richard Rohr Daily Meditation

Living in ignorance comes at a cost. What are you doing to grow in your wisdom (Heart and Mind) today?

Have you ever loved someone so much you had to let them go?
Who and when? Why?
A good relationship is a sharing, there is no dependence. Both partners remain totally free and independent. Nobody possesses, there is no need. It is a free gift. “I have so much so I give it to you”. There is no need, I can be alone and perfectly happy. When two persons are in love and both can be alone and happy, then a tremendously beautiful love happens, because they are not hindering each other in any way in their growth.
“And this is the beauty of it; If you are happy and a relationship happens you feel good, you share, but you are not dependent on it. You don’t become a slave, you don’t become addicted to it, because you can be happy without it!”

Barriers to healing growth and change require a paradigm shift....a shift in thinking but bias get in the way. Which of these biases resonate with you?

Brian McLaren from CAC presented these:
People can’t see what they can’t see. Their biases get in the way, surrounding them like a high wall, trapping them in ignorance, deception, and illusion. No amount of reasoning and argument will get through to them, unless we first learn how to break down the walls of bias. . . .

Confirmation Bias: We judge new ideas based on the ease with which they fit in with and confirm the only standard we have: old ideas, old information, and trusted authorities. As a result, our framing story, belief system, or paradigm excludes whatever doesn’t fit.

Complexity Bias: Our brains prefer a simple falsehood to a complex truth.

Community Bias: It’s almost impossible to see what our community doesn’t, can’t, or won’t see.

Complementarity Bias: If you are hostile to my ideas, I’ll be hostile to yours. If you are curious and respectful toward my ideas, I’ll respond in kind.

Competency Bias: We don’t know how much (or little) we know because we don’t know how much (or little) others know. In other words, incompetent people assume that most other people are about as incompetent as they are. As a result, they underestimate their [own] incompetence, and consider themselves at least of average competence.

Consciousness Bias: Some things simply can’t be seen from where I am right now. But if I keep growing, maturing, and developing, someday I will be able to see what is now inaccessible to me.

Comfort or Complacency Bias: I prefer not to have my comfort disturbed.

Conservative/Liberal Bias: I lean toward nurturing fairness and kindness, or towards strictly enforcing purity, loyalty, liberty, and authority, as an expression of my political identity.

Confidence Bias: I am attracted to confidence, even if it is false. I often prefer the bold lie to the hesitant truth.

Catastrophe or Normalcy Bias: I remember dramatic catastrophes but don’t notice gradual decline (or improvement).

Contact Bias: When I don’t have intense and sustained personal contact with “the other,” my prejudices and false assumptions go unchallenged.

Cash Bias: It’s hard for me to see something when my way of making a living requires me not to see it.

Conspiracy Bias: Under stress or shame, our brains are attracted to stories that relieve us, exonerate us, or portray us as innocent victims of malicious conspirators. [1]

What is 'quiet quitting,' and how it may be a misnomer for setting boundaries at work 08/21/2022

The workplace is evolving and has impact family life, quality of life in a negative manner. Finally individuals are asking to be compensated for over and above...paid for sacrifice and the true cost of doing business.

What is 'quiet quitting,' and how it may be a misnomer for setting boundaries at work Quiet quitting is taking over TikTok as a new workplace trend popular with Gen Z. However, it may be a misnomer for setting healthy boundaries in the workplace.

In this busy world or if you are vulnerable for any reason it is important to detach and explore the meaning that you are placing on a person or event and then respond not react. View others through a lens of love not fear!

I am walking into 2022 with a clear heart and mind because I am committed to living in the present moment letting go! It is not easy to live, love, shine light on the experience, learn and let go! This is from a friend for 2022. “If you owe me don’t worry about it, If you wronged me , its all good, lesson learned. If you are angry with me, you won. I’ve let you go. If we are not speaking its cool, I truly wish you well. If you feel I wronged you , I apologize it was not intentional. I am grateful for every experience I have received. Life is too short for pent up anger, holding of grudges and extra stress or pain. Here’s to 2022. Remember, forgiving someone is for you to not block your blessings. Make 2022 a year of positivity and a season of forgiveness and grace.”

Lies/Self Defeating beliefs keep us stuck.....result in anxiety, sadness, anger, guilt.......So discover the lies and replace them with truth.........Lies could include " it's always my fault, I am a failure because...., I need everyone's approval to be worthwhile, I am unlovable because, or life should treat us fairly among others" What lie is holding you back?
