It’s true water and electronics don’t always mesh. However, there are many electronic components that don’t get damaged from water! When a board is conformed well it’s safe. It also can't contain any of the following components when it comes into contact with water: memory chips, backup battery, RAM chips, open coil transformers, open relays. We always look over a board for those key signs before we wash them. Sometimes, we need to clean a board that has a buildup of dust, dirt, grime, and grease. If this buildup gets on a component, it can disrupt the flow of current and the electronic field. Additionally, it can start eating the component leads and traces, causing the board to malfunction.
