A collaboration between CommScope and VDL Mast Solutions is set to give a boost to the rollout of 5G across Europe.
CommScope’s strong reputation in the UK market for delivering telecommunications mast solutions and VDL’s expertise in mainland Europe will enable an end-to-end offering for the full European market. While the current focus is on supplying solutions for the 5G macro grid, the two companies intend to migrate towards a future metro grid solution for the densification of 5G. With the collaboration CommScope solidifies its offering to the European mainland with local production and installation capabilities while VDL extends its current offering towards a fully integrated RF solution enabling easy installation for European operators.
Douglas Rankin, CommScope’s VP of Sales, Europe, stated: “CommScope is delighted to partner with VDL Mast Solutions, this collaboration will allow us to extend our already very robust integrated solutions offering throughout Europe. Ultimately, allowing us to offer an end-to-end solution and better facilitate our European customers to simplify their 5G rollouts.”
VDL’s Managing Director of Mast Solutions, Eric Janssen, added: “We’ve opened the door to a broad collaboration between our two companies so that we can help our customers even better with their challenges concerning the implementation of 5G connectivity in Europe.”
