Good news came on Halloween night-I have been awarded in the category "Best Vehicle" in the Plein Air Salon September 2023!

Just a quick heads up.. two things, number one keep your eyes peeled as there will be a flash super sale on unframed watercolors sometime this weekend. Secondly I will be at the Firefly gallery Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. if you come to the gallery on Sunday and you mentioned this post from Kirk Larsen art I will do a free quick pencil sketch for you. Limited to 10 sketches, first come first serve. See you then and keep your eyes and ears open for the watercolor sale! Photo is of my current wall at the Firefly gallery.

Delighted to share that "Restless & ready" is selected as a top 100 finalists in The Plen air salon September 2023.

There were 813 paintings entered into the September Competition by 274 artists from 30 countries.
The awards (from these 100) will be announced via Facebook on October 31st at 7pm ET.

I am thrilled to be able to share the exciting news that an awesome director I’ve worked with in her feature directorial debut (co-written by Brendan O’Brien), BIRTH/REBIRTH, will be opening in theaters nationwide this weekend.

A Frankenstein-inspired body horror about two women bound together by their relationship to a re-animated child. It stars Marin Ireland, Judy Reyes, AJ Lister, Breeda Wool and LaChanze and features the work of incredible artists both behind the camera and in post.

Opening weekend box office is critical for jumpstarting a successful run, love it if you would see it in theaters this weekend. grateful for any help in spreading the word to the twisted people in your life who might dig this kind of movie.

The 13th Annual PleinAir Salon Art Competition has announced its monthly winners and honorable mention awards for the June Competition.

Kirk Larsen has been selected as the Nocturne Honorable Mention
with his painting titled, “Midnight Swim”. The judge for the June Competition was Master Artist, Peggy Immel.

There were 834 paintings entered into the June Competition by 309 artists from 20 countries

Larsen, along with the other 22 winners, is now entered into the Annual PleinAir Salon Art Competition that will be awarded in May 2024 at the Plein Air Convention & Expo. These artists will compete for a $15,000 cash
grand prize, and for their painting to be featured on the cover of PleinAir Magazine. All of the June honorable mention recipients will be included in a showcase in digital edition of the Oct/Nov issue of PleinAir Magazine,
the #1 best-selling representational art magazine nationwide.*
