Bio

I am a 47 year old citizen of Botswana, Africa. I'm a General Practitioner /Medical Doctor by profession. My interest in Poetry is more spiritual as I find poetry as a medium that connects people at a spiritual level.

I didn't study Poetry, I found myself writing poetry every time I was in a certain state of mind. It's like poems just flow through me. I don't plan or research topics or themes, it's just dependent on events that are happening in my life or the world. In 2021, I published a Poetry book called "Love, Consciousness and Humanity: The Path of Silence: The Shadowless Dreamer."

Goodpods.com placed us second on their list of top poetry podcasts and fourth for motivational podcasts in December 2023.

A total of 88 podcast episodes were produced and broadcast on Blogtalkradio.com throughout the year. From conversational interviews with poets that explored the essence of poetry within the sphere of mind, heart, and soul, through celebrations of women poets during Women’s History Month, honoring Harlem Renaissance poets during Black History Month, observing a Poetry Remembrance of 9/11, focusing on the role poetry plays in mental health awareness, and hosting an author showcase with EYEPUBLISHEWE Book Publishers in 2023.

It's important to note that these are just a small sampling of the variety of episodes you can find at www.blogtalkradio.com/ql_p. QLPOR was started in 2018, and it is anticipated that soon there will be 400 podcasts available for listening pleasure. In 2023, the following top five episodes were listened to or downloaded the most:

Christy Sawyer, Jan 25, 2023 - http://tobtr.com/12187884.

Women in Poetry, Mar 15, 2023 - http://tobtr.com/12205536.

Genevieve Ray, Jan 14, 2023 - http://tobtr.com/12181908.

"Collective Voices" Now and Then, Mar 4, 2023 - http://tobtr.com/12201263.

As we look ahead to the year 2024, QLPOR ranks number two on the list of best podcasts in the poetry genre featured by Podcast Tonight (https://lnkd.in/eVmRNnzh...), and we have seen an increase in QLPOR's position in Feedspot's list (https://lnkd.in/eCQb5qVm).

Excitingly, our podcast has evolved into Quintessential Listening: Poetry Online Radio and YouTube (QLPORYT). This transformation aligns with YouTube's commitment to podcasts, allowing us to showcase poets through audio, live streaming, and video (see MP4).

Hello Everyone,

This year, on Monday, September 11, the Quintessential Listening Poetry Online Radio (qlpor.com) podcast will host a poetry remembrance program titled The Day The World Caught Fire. This program will commemorate the 22nd anniversary of the tragic events that occurred on September 11, 2001. The program will begin at 8:00 PM (ET). We are looking for poets and writers who would like to contribute heartfelt words to the program. It doesn't matter if you were a part of the tragedy first-hand or affected in some other way, we invite you to share your perspective through poetry. Your words have the power to heal, inspire, and unite. Singers and musicians are also welcome!

There are two ways to participate in the program: 1) Call in at (646)-787-1631 on the evening of the program and share your poem. Please message me first if you'd like to read a poem. 2). Record your poem, song or music as an MP3 audio file and send it to [email protected]. The MP3 will be broadcast during the program. Please include your name and contact information in the email. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Submission Deadline: [September 6, 2023]

Guidelines:

Poems can reflect personal experiences, emotions, reflections, or tributes related to September 11, 2001.

Poems can be in any language but should be accompanied by an English translation if not in English.

Please limit the number of poems to two (call-in or MP3).

Thanks,

Michael
