LuckenBuck Farms

Just a small Texas farm doing farm thangs

We have a baby on board!!! Avery did great with labor and delivery, no assistance needed. She struggled in the milk department, so we had to supplement with colostrum replacer and milk replacer for the first 2 days. Her milk finally came in and little man is nursing. He was slow putting on weight at first but is back on track and doing well.

Meet the new baby:
Dorothy the Goat of Oz 🤣
and let me tell you this little girl earned her name!!!!!

This past Thursday I went to tour a dairy goat farm and learn some tip and tricks from a pro.
They had a few weaned babies and of course I couldn't help myself 🤣
So baby goat and I started our long trek home, I knew a bad storm was headed our way, but thought I could beat it home. Boy, was I ever wrong!!! We ended up right in the path of an EF1 Tornado! There was no time to react, I just pulled into the first driveway I saw and Dorothy and I road out the 100mph winds in my jeep (with no top on it just a small sunshade to protect us from debris, rain, and whipping powerlines) To be honest Dorothy handled the situation a lot better than I did 🤣

(This photo was taken about 20 minutes before our twister event)

Picked up a couple clearance lawnmowers. These poor guys were on their way to become lamb chops, now they are going to live their life out doing landscaping. Meet Kaitlyn and Bruce!!

We've been holding back from posting about our little Boer baby Monica, she came from the sale barn and had a few health concerns. At the time we weren't sure what her outcome was going to be. We are pleased to announce that she now has a clean bill of health and will live a long happy, healthy life here on the LuckenBuck Farm!

We got almost 3 inchs of rain this morning, made a muddy mess out here but the goats are making the best of it. 🤣🤣

Meet Avry, this poor girl has had a rough week. She was transported to the auction, was sold and purchased, put back up for sale for Easter dinner. We rescued her from the chopping block, and brought her home. Turns out she is an escape artist and has a crush on the neighbors 2000 lb bull, oddly enough I think he likes her too 🤣 We are having to reinforce her paddock with smaller fencing to keep her from roaming over to visit her bovine boyfriend 🤣

Last but most definitely not least ...
Miss Laramie!!
This little lady strongly believes she is a dog! 🤣
She's half Nigerian Dwarf half Pygmy, and has the most gentle soul ever. She loves to be snuggled and petted, and will follow you around like a little lost puppy.

Meet the rescue: Mia!
This poor girl came from a very Bad place, she was infested with worms including lungworms, had a very bad upper respiratory infection, and severe malnutrition. After lots of care, minerals, antibiotics, supplements and good food she is finally on the mend! Hooves still need to be done but getting her healthy is our number one priority.
