Sleep Awareness Week: ABCs for Safe Sleep
Sleep Awareness Week is March 10-16, a good time to remember creating safe sleep environments for infants is crucial. Follow these tips from Safe Sleep Hawaii to keep your baby safe while they sleep. A - Alone. Keep cribs and playpens empty and in the same room with a parent or caregiver. B - on their Backs. Always place infants on their backs on a flat or firm surface. C - in a Crib. Move sleeping infants from swings, strollers or car seats to a crib. Use tight-fitted sheets.

National Burn Awareness Week 2024
As National Burn Awareness Week continues, here are more burn prevention tips to help you keep your home a safe place for the whole family. • During mealtime, place hot items in the center of the table, at least 10 inches from the table edge. • Be aware that quick motions may cause liquid to spill on you, children or others around you. • Do not place hot liquids on low coffee tables that a young child can reach. • When heating food in the microwave, use microwave-safe cookware that allows steam to escape. Be careful as some microwaved foods and liquids may reach temperatures hotter than boiling without the appearance of bubbling. • Get up to speed on your first-aid knowledge.
