Mahalo Medicine
Health and wellness go beyond what you put in your mouth.
It involves your thoughts, beliefs, environment, and exposures and of course gratitude for all experiences.
Our "fight" against disease leads us to fight against our own selves.
Disease is natural and occurs off and on throughout our life.
The key is to make sure it doesn't take you down!
SIckness is a way to build resiliency.
It can give us lessons.
It can help turn our habits around.
Never blame yourself for getting sick.
Our world is full of pollutants, chemicals, and denatured foods that can take us down even with the best efforts.
Instead of fighting, support your body and its needs so that it can give you stamina, energy, resliliency, and more.
"Adding in" is a great way to support the body. And it's easy!
Have you been "fighting" against your body?
Staying healthy doesn't have to be a full time job.
It means choosing small, meaningful foods, habits, and/or nutrients to keep your body balanced so that it can take care of the work it needs to do.
You don't even need to be all-in.
I've had patients who never wanted to give up their meat and potatoes.
And guess what, they didn't have to.
As long as they incorporated small, big impact actions (like eating cabbage with their meat and having a green juice daily for their enzymes).
Taking a medication for lowering blood pressure or for lowering sugar for diabetes is not what your body is missing.
These things are a band-aid for the time being.
But they do not resolve the fundamental problem.
Once you add live enzymes, meaningful supplemental nutrients, and incorporate seasonal fasting, the body can do the heavy lifting for you WITHOUT medication.💊
I'll be hosting a seasonal fast this September.
Two weeks of one meal a day and all the liquids you want (juice, smoothies, blended soups). 🥑🥥🫐🍈🍋🍌🍐🍍🥭

Let's get our community healthy! 💪
As a minimalist/maximalist, I like to find the smallest actions that have the biggest impact.
We all know green tea is healthy.
Well, matcha powder is the green tea leaves ground into a powder.
Even better!
I get the full compounds of chlorophyll for blood cleansing and Mg, l-theanine for calm energy, and it's a natural GLP-1 agonist to help curb appetite.
I blend it with coconut milk for beneficial fats and more GLP-1 goodness and raw honey for antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral benefits (and some delicious sweetness) and BAM! Superfood!
Have you tried making matcha?
Everyday someone is reversing cancer, improving their blood pressure, getting a good nights sleep, or walking further than they had the day before.
Health is dynamic.
It is not set in stone.
Disease is not stagnant (only if you don't make changes).
the body is always trying to heal itself.
We just need to get out of the way.
People are healing themselves all over the world using methods that are not usual or customary.
Meaning, what is not advised in the doctors office.
Our system of medicine resolves symptoms, not disease.
Resolve the disease and you also resolve the symptoms.
Are you ready to transform your health?
Health is personal to each person.
What does health mean to you?
Is it absence of disease?
Feeling good in your body?
Being your ideal weight?
Having energy?
Living to an old age?
Being able to walk or do activities with others?
All of the above are correct and each one of you will have a different answer.
Health is multifaceted and impacts who we are and how we move through our lives.
What does health mean to you?
"Adding in" is a method I like to use.
There isn't one diet for every person on the planet.
Culture is so important when it comes to diet.
It is important to eat culturally while implementing certain guidelines when it comes to eating.
"Adding in" live enzymes, minerals, superfoods, and tonic herbs are some ways to keep whatever diet you eat while making sure you don't go off the rails on your health.
For example, if you're Mexican, don't eliminate beans and rice because of the "carbs". Instead, continue to eat your cultural diet while "adding in" live food like avocado, pico with raw tomato, and drinking teas with fresh herbs to support the body. Find ways to add live greens to each meal. Use fresh squeezed juices and/or smoothies to add live enzymes.
There's always a way to "add in"to support your own, personal diet.
What are your thoughts?
Enzymes are life.
We lose enzymes as we age.
However, we can get enzymes from food.
But that food must be raw since enzymes are denatured over 130ºF.
"Adding in" is a great way to replenish your enzymes and give your body what it needs to heal itself.
Add raw, live food to every meal to help your body digest, cleanse, and repair.
Because we eat so much cooked and packaged food, this is the major reason for rampant chronic disease today.
What can you add today to boost your enzymes?
So many people avoid juice because they are afraid of the sugar in it.
This is true for store bought juices but juicing fresh fruit and vegetables is one of the best and easiest ways to regain your health back.
The reason is enzymes.
Enzymes are the backbone of our body system.
They work as catalyst for every reaction in our body.
They help our metabolism and digestion.
The problem is we lose enzymes as we age.
However, we can get enzymes from our food.
But the food has to be alive.
Raw.
Enzymes can't live over 130ºF which means nothing cooked, packaged, or pasteurized.
Adding in a fresh-pressed juice daily will flood your body with necessary enzymes your body needs to trigger the healing process.
No one wants disease.
But we often equate health as not having disease.
In fact, health involves feeling vibrant.
As humans, we should go through the day feeling energetic, think clearly, and be able to withstand stress.
Our bodies are amazing.
Cultivating adaptability to whatever life throws our way is a fundamental aspect of health.
Adding in live food like fresh-pressed juices, smoothies, and supplements like magnesium are easy and simple ways to bring your body back to HEALTH.
This does not apply to commercial candy bars. Look for raw cacao powder or 60% or more chocolate bars. Cacao has been used for centuries ceremonially. It is known as a "heart opener". It is not surprising to me that it helps AF (atrial fibrillation). Cacao also has one of the largest amounts of magnesium of any food. Magnesium also "calms" the heart electrically. DO yourself and your heart a favor and make some chocolate milk today.
It's that time again!
Join me on a gentle yet powerful cleanse for two weeks.
We start with one, plant-based meal a day with unlimited amounts of liquids (fresh juices, smoothies, water, tea, etc).
The second week, we eliminate that one meal and do all liquids.
You will be amazed how easy it is!
You will notice the pounds fall off, your digestion improve, better sleep, more clarity.
I think that's a great way to enter into 2024 to achieve all of our goals.
We need to shed the debris and clutter, even in our bodies.
We start next Monday January 15th.

It's free. What do you have to lose other than your beliefs.

My favorite meal right now: loaded smoothie bowl! I use the antioxidant blend from Costco (individual packets) and make ahead to keep in the freezer. I then add fresh mango, Mac nut butter, bee pollen, h**p seeds, cacao nibs, and pumpkin seeds. Yum!

Growing your own sprouts is easy. No dirt or free thumb required! Put 2T of seeds in a glass of water overnight. Then put in a wire mesh container and give the seeds a shower morning and evening. After several days you’ll see little sprouts. I keep them covered until small sprouts appear. Then uncover for them to photosynthesize and turn green. Set them in a windowsill or countertop. Cut and enjoy!

I come across a lot of people who eat yogurt because they think it’s healthy. And the probiotics ARE healthy but sometimes the base is not. Dairy is pasteurized, meaning heated, to kill bacteria 🙃 Live cultures (good bacteria) is then added in to make it fermented. So why not just take a probiotic where you can choose the strains 🤷🏼♀️ Then you also avoid all negative effects of eating dairy. You can eat coconut yogurt, specifically GTs, which is raw and not heated so you get all the other benefits along with the probiotics. Do you eat and enjoy yogurt? Have you tried coconut yogurt? Mahalo 🤙🏽💕

X is for xenoestrogen. These can be natural or synthetic compounds that mimic estrogen. They can be found in PCBs, BPA, phthalates, insecticides, dioxin (tampons), dyes, and beauty products. They act as false messengers in the brain, thyroid and glands and can alter reproduction and really any hormonal signaling. Avoid using plastic for eating (especially heating or storing acidic foods like tomatoes), water bottles, and air fresheners and perfumes.
If you’re interested in reseting your body, I’ll be hosting a cleanse. This is an opportunity to flush out some of those toxins with live juices, elixirs and smoothies to help your body run more smoothly.

W is for wheat. You don’t need to have celiac disease to avoid wheat. You can have an allergy or an intolerance. That’s for a couple reasons. Wheat has increased in the amount of gluten in the past 20-30 years. Gluten makes bread more fluffy. The other problem is how wheat is harvested. Wheat is harvested after it goes to seed. Wheat goes to seed at all different times making it difficult for farmers. However, spraying Roundup allows it to go seed all at once so it can be harvested. The problem is then you’re eating all that roundup. 🤢 Eating wheat can make your brain feel foggy, cause bloating, and cause rashes and skin dermatitis. Much if this is from the toxin. If you’re wanting to avoid the extra toxins by avoiding gluten, look for other names such as modified food starch, textured vegetable protein, natural flavors, or vegetable gum. Have you given ip gluten? How did you feel? Mahalo 🤙🏽💕
