MY CASHIER THIS EVENING at Foodland Market City had a nameTag that read: “Brainhard” ?!! 🤔

Without Googling this name to see if it has any historical or cultural relevance and/or significance, I’ve got to ask, “What kind of mean & vicious parent (or parents) would intentionally do this to their child” ?!

The dude is a smaller man, quiet, keeps to himself, very efficient and runs the register very well…
Aside from that my take on him is that he is somewhat meek and timid…
Again, what kind of parents would do this to their kid…
I know, I know “Shut-the-f**k-up Edward, this is none of your business”…

Sarah McLachlan was, is, one of my favourite folk, indie, singer/songWriters… on par with Joni Mitchell, John Lennon, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Judy Collins, James Taylor, John Prine, Diana Krall, Jackson Browne, Gordon Lightfoot, Linda Ronstadt, Leonard Cohen, Odetta, Paul Simon, Lucinda Williams, and a host of others. I’ve always thought Sara‘s voice to be angelic.

A few of the compositions on this album were actually penned by several of the aforeMentioned artists (Joni, John Lennon, Gordon Lightfoot)… I love ❤️ this album, the songs are so heartwarming, so easy on the mind & soul, especially at this time of year when all we are asking is “Give Peace a Chance” - “Peace on Earth” 🕊️💫🌟

In my onGoing effort to take my foot “off the accelerator”, and to slowly ease mySelf away from “things political”, e.g. corrupted governments & government officials, away from two surging wars on Mother Earth & the onGoing talk of an imminent WWIII… away from onGoing racism, dictatorship, hate, anger, violence, genocide, and poverty. And for us to move towards the direction of “just being Happy” and embracing the “joie de vivre en vivant”…

If you are able to identify each one of these celebrity artists/singers/ entertainers by name, as I have just done, then:

1. You are of my generation…
2. You appreciate, respect, and live for music, artists, & musicians as much as do I… And
3. that your mind is still fertile, flourishing, and healthy with the ability to retain and deliver at a moment’s notice…

It is difficult for me to understand how such a large group of notable and iconic artists were gathered into one room, at one time, to sing this powerful song composed by Michael Jackson & Lionel Richie. At a point in time when each of these artists were at the apex of their careers so that their face and their unique voices are immediately recognizable. And most boggling & dumbfounding is that this epic recording session took place 38-years ago ?!

These same artists today have aged, some are still quite evident, and some have passed. Their musical message is still hugely evident today, 38-years later, and yet is buried in a 21st century topsy-turvy World that is torn-apart by two onGoing wars, by greed, avarice, hate, racism, violence, and corruption at every level of government…

As you listen to and watch this video, and possibly cry as did I, please think about the message these iconic artists are singing to us… to transcend skin-colour along with differing religious, differing philosophical, ideological, socio-economic, and political beliefs.

And then please don’t just file this away in a far little, remote corner of your brain… rather let each one of you, on a daily basis, do whatever is in your power, in whatever little way, to bring about Peace, Joy, Truth, Happiness & Harmony to Mother Earth 🌎 and all her inhabitants. Can you, can I, can we do this in “One Voice, One Heart ❤️ One Mind”…

What I appreciate most about Dovydas is not just his incredible mastery of his axe, playing most every genre of music flawlessly, yet he has also been able to “keep his head squarely on his shoulders”.

He travels the length & breadth of a country, playing honkyTonks, diveBars, clubs, & outDoor venues. He is both humble & kind as he invites aspiring musicians/ singers/ songWriters up on stage with him… and once he realizes that they’ve “got game”, that their music does’t suck, he becomes very generous as he plays “around them” and not over nor through them.

RITA PAYÉS - Quien lo diría (LIVE)…

Such Amazing things have been, of late, happening for me as I “surf” the Internet, YouTube, & Google… magical things in my favourite world, the world of music (“Without Music Life would be a Mistake” -Friedrich Nietzsche-).

I just know it was destiny for me to have stumbled upon this young (23 years old) prodigy, jazz musician from Spain, RITA PAYÉS. Professor Google tells me that both her parents are musicians, that they got her into the piano at a very young age… and then fate and destiny jumped-in and put a trombone into the hands of, and to the lips of young Rita.

She has many appearances on YouTube. This happens to be the first one I watched and it moved me to tears, tears of joy… Watching and listening to Rita pourOut her heart & soul thru her voice, thru her horn, and thru her beautiful, soulful eyes. And to watch the older, incredible musicians around her give her the respect, and the stageFront that she has earned, speaks volumes to her skill-level, her musicianship, her passion, and to her soft, subtle, and yet so very powerful stage presence.

I am once again transported to a place that only music, great music, is able to take me… a place of peacefulness, tranquility, centeredness, happiness, joyfulness, and humbleness…

I was aware of this incredible singer/songWriter back in the 70’s and my interest & appreciation of him has just recently been awakened again.
The dude is one of the most gifted multi-instrumentalists, a brilliant maestro/virtuoso who plays the s**t outta’ everything from a guitar (both acoustic and electric), to ukulele, pedalSteel slide-guitar, dobro, mandolin, violin, cello, you name it and David nails it !!

His song compositions are often quirky, sassy, profane, and funny… and yet at the same time he can write a very heart-wrenching ❤️ romantic ballad (check him out on YouTube)… David currently lives in Wilmington, Delaware, where he and his wife, artist Nancy Josephson, own an extensive violin sales and repair shop.

I am today as strong and fit of body, mind, and spirit as ever before, as I move slowly to a complete “plant-based diet”…

He was the frontMan for his band called the “YOUNGBLOODS” who played at Woodstock and then went onto a very successful solo career. Jesse is still quite evident today singing & writing great songs…
