Horsham Dog Park

We hate having to cancel or postpone our park events because it impacts the money we raise to keep our park maintained, mulched and enjoyable.

For those new to the page or those who don’t actually know…the HDP is fully funded by donations and supported by a group of volunteers. We raise money at various small events and through community donations from people like you so that we can do things like install much needed mulch every year.

This holiday season, please consider a donation to the HORSHAM DOG PARK so we can continue to keep it one of the best FREE parks around.

Ugh. And just like that…. Santa and the Elves just had to make the difficult decision to cancel photos with Santa tomorrow due to the weather outlook.

We are so sorry for the late notice but we hope to try to plan more events sometime soon!!

Trust us when we say that we don’t love this decision as we always look forward to this event and raising much needed funds for our favorite park.

Horsham Farmers Market however is still a go so please come out and support all the vendors and businesses and get your holiday shopping on and please consider donating - We need to keep raising fund for this years park mulch!

This is our biggest fundraising event for the year and for those who dont already know, these fundraisers and donations received are what enables us to pay for the treated mulch on the grounds each year!

Attention, vendors! We have confirmed that the annual anniversary/Halloween party for the Horsham Dog Park will be Sunday, October 22!

The party consists of multiple vendors, a food truck option, a costume contest for dogs, 50-50 raffle, and a basket raffle - full of prizes from some of the best businesses and restaurants throughout Horsham! It is our biggest fundraiser of the year which helps to support the funding of the much needed wood carpet/mulch that is installed on the grounds each year.

During our Dog Days of Summer market this Sunday, August 6th from 10 am to 1 pm, stop by the Horsham Dog Park table to learn about this wonderful, safe place for pups to play and owners to chat.

The Horsham Farmers’ Market is held every Sunday through 10/29 from 10 am to 1 pm, 1025 Horsham Rd., Horsham, PA. Every market is filled with a great assortment of local, quality farms and vendors both outside and inside the Horsham Township Community Center.

Bring the family for this enjoyable community event!

In 2021 the dog park won a grant and we finally had the chance to put it to good use to address some of the wet problem areas within the park grounds - aside from the mulch that was installed earlier in the spring, today two new trees were planted and the drainage around the fountains has been addressed thanks to the work of our friends at Holly Days Nursery, Garden Center, & Landscaping.

UPDATE ON THE DOG PARK GROUNDS: We are currently having the township price out the wood carpet (treated mulch) and will hopefully be able to install it sooner rather than later since it looks as though winter skipped us this year. We will post updates as we know them but in the meantime, we are still (and always) collecting donations to cover the costs! Every dollar helps us do our best to keep the park free to everyone and maintained throughout the year!

DID YOU KNOW? The majority of dog park goers and the community in general believe that it is the Township who funds and manages the maintenance and upkeep of the dog park. But what people dont know is that is not exactly how it works. While they do help us spread and source the mulch and mow some of the grassy areas, the township does NOT absorb the funds it takes to handle the dog park grounds like it does every other playground or field throughout the township.... despite the dog park being a township park on township property, the Horsham Dog Park actually runs on volunteers and donations. Money has to be raised for the special, dog-friendly treated wood carpet (mulch) that is installed and much-needed each year. Events such as the annual Halloween Party, Photos with Santa, etc. are organized and manned by a sitting board who donate their time to plan ways to fundraise throughout the year. Money is raised through those events in the form of raffles, merchandise sales, and donations. This year, the mulch pricing has nearly doubled from that of last year, and truckloads include less material than in past years. In order to cover the cost of the nearly 200 yards of mulch it would take to sufficiently cover the park grounds, we need to raise at least $3K more in the next few months, otherwise, we will likely only be able to cover a small part of some problem areas, which wont make the needed impact our pups need and deserve.

The board is in the process of planning some upcoming Dine and Donates, we are looking to have a donation and swag table set up over some upcoming weekends at the park, and we are planning a Spring Dog Walk that will cost a small fee but will include an official Dog Park t-shirt. INTERESTING FACT: None of the current members on the Board of the Horsham Dog Park even live in Horsham Township! But they love the HDP and the dog park community and work year round to keep the park as maintained as possible and to fundraise to keep the park one of the best around and free and enjoyable to everyone. There are many pay-parks around and the goal is to keep the HDP from becoming one next. That can only be done with the support of the community around us.
