9 Ways to Disaster-Proof Your Home Against Storms
Turns out a tidy yard and clean gutters do way more than just look nice.
9 Ways to Disaster-Proof Your Home Against Storms Preventing water damage to your home when summer storms hit is crucial. Plus you need to know how to prepare for a power outage, and possible fires, too. Here’s how to disaster-proof your home against water damage and power outages.
Today, June 25, 2024, the Hot Springs Board of Realtors held its second luncheon of the year at the DoubleTree Hotel. The event began with a prayer and pledge of allegiance led by Ben Kilgore. President Karol Bailes, Realtor, Crye Leike Realtors spoke to board members about the Realtor Relief Foundation and shared multiple pictures of the tornado damage. Lawana Whaley also provided information about the Realtor Relief Foundation. Andy Meyers discussed the NAR lawsuit and its upcoming changes. Lastly, Steve Street announced Heather Vaughn as the 2024 Realtor of the Year. Congratulations to Heather Vaughn for earning the Realtor of the Year award! We are all very proud of you and your impact throughout the HSBOR community. We extend our gratitude to all attendees for their participation in this remarkable event.
In the early morning hours of May 8th, Hot Springs was dealt a direct hit of an EF-2 tornado that caused severe damage to our town. Hot Springs Board of Realtors immediately started communication with the REALTORS® Relief Foundation of the National Association of REALTORS® to request and receive a grant for assistance to homeowners impacted. Those grant funds were then given to Arkansas REALTORS® Associations' Hearts & Homes, ARA's 501(c)3 to approve applications and disburse grant funds.
HSBOR had 2 days where applicants could complete an application and receive approval on the spot from Board members of Hearts & Homes. 52 applications were approved for a total of $78,000 in tornado relief to homeowners. Additional applications have also been submitted and HSBOR can accept applications through June 28th.
Hot Springs is so fortunate to have this resource available from RRF! RRF exists solely by donations and with Hot Springs being the recipient of those grants I am asking that we donate back to RRF so that the next community that has a disaster can also benefit from their generosity. We have our own direct donation text set up so that you can donate directly to RRF! Please consider texting your donation today!

It's Myth Busting Monday here at ARA, and we're talking commissions! There's a lot of misinformation circulating lately, so make sure you're only getting the FACTS.
Fact is, The National Association of REALTORS® does not set commissions – they are negotiable. Learn how NAR is correcting the record following recent inaccuracies in media coverage at https://bit.ly/493Foxd
2024 Solar Eclipse Pet Safety
Just a friendly reminder - during a solar eclipse, it's a good idea to keep your furry friends indoors. The sun's rays can be harmful to their eyes, and the sudden change in light might spook them. Many pets react to eclipses just like they do to fireworks or thunderstorms.
Yesterday, March 26, 2024, The Hot Springs Board of Realtors held its first luncheon of the year at the Doubletree Hotel, with ARA Leadership, Jennifer Welch, ARA President, Wes Freeman, ARA President-Elect, Philip Jones, ARA Secretary-Treasurer and ARA CEO Stephanie White as the guest speakers.

I was a judge this past Saturday, February 17th, for The Hot Springs Special Olympics Arkansas Polar Plunge. 🥁 $13,325 was raised for Special Olympics Arkansas!
I wanted to share that total, and pics of our friend and Leader in Special Olympics Arkansas, Karly Pratchard, along with her team from Abilities Unlimited who had the individual and team with the most funds raised!
♥️♥️♥️Please put your thinking caps on to how WE, the Hot Springs Board of Realtors can show up with STRONG Support for this worthwhile cause in 2025! Do we have some volunteers willing to plunge and raise funds? Another idea of fundraising for this event?
Special Olympics Arkansas runs 240 competitions statewide for over 15,000 athletes, with 20 different types of events! They also have the opportunity to earn a spot on Team Arkansas for the Special Olympics USA Games hosted every 4 years! There is also Special Olympics World Games every 2 years!
Our local friend, Karly Pratchard is part of the Athlete Leadership Program where she serves in many capacities including using her voice to spread the word about the transformations that Special Olympics can bring to individuals and families. She came to our Fishing Derby and Baggo Tournament last year to show support!
Have a great day, and let us know if you have ideas to share!
Hot Springs Board of Realtors organized a successful Continuing Education Session at The DoubleTree of Hot Springs. HSBOR invited Dale Carlton, a Real Estate Broker, Professor, National Educator, and Attorney at Law, to share his expertise.
As realtors, we constantly strive to provide our clients with the best service and guidance. Dale Carlton's insights and expertise in the emerging market were invaluable in helping us understand the intricacies of this field. We sincerely thank Dale Carlton for his gracious contribution to our professional growth.
The commitment of Dale Carlton to educating the real estate community is commendable, and we are grateful for his valuable contribution to our professional development. We look forward to continuing this journey of growth and learning together and are excited about our future endeavors.
