I wanted to have this piece ready for Juneteenth but it wasn’t ready. I have had some artist block I have been working through. Liberty being theme for the day. Part of the symbolism of the Statue of Liberty is the broken chain and shackle lying at her feet symbolizing the abolition of slavery. So what better symbol to be the subject of this piece.

About a year and a half ago, I created a piece called Enslavement for Juneteenth . It was about women being trapped by mental shackles and keeping them from realizing their potential. This is the companion piece which visualizes what happens when one tackles those demons, break their chains and is ready to truly live.

Watching Blade again. Just realized Wesley was rocking Timbs in that opening scene. So 90’s.

If marvel wants to save Hulk, he should go to adult animation. They need an artist with a unique art style and a unique hulk design. It would allow them to deal with classic stories in a serialized way and create a merchandising powerhouse. If you have good visual designs , the toys, statues, t shirts, companion comics will sell.

Another oldie I had sitting around trying to figure it out. That’s the fun part about art. Figuring it out like a detective. I got sidetracked since Halloween with a piece that I couldn’t figure out and then the holidays happened. But I’m back on track in 2024.

I was experimenting with a a couple of new techniques I saw and I’m liking the results. I hit a lot of the basics and added some new finishes.

I’m sitting here watching the Incredible Hulk from the 70’s trying to figure out how is he a transient , who can’t keep a job but somehow has money for the latest drip that he somehow packs in a small leather duffle bag.

I have been working on evolving my logo. So the first pic is the finished product fully rendered. Second pic is my logo stamp. Third is version 2.0. Last but not least is version 1.0. In the finished product, you will notice the blue and gold in the snake that really compliment each other and pops. The grill with the jeweled 713 and the fangs dripping purple just felt right. Libra ♎️
