Students tune in as "Time Rewind" brings the past to life

"Time Rewind" is a one-minute daily history/pop culture feature that is broadcast on student-operated radio stations and in student video announcements at schools across the U.S. Hosted by veteran broadcast journalist David Mendel, the program launched in 2007 on more than 50 commercial radio stations around the country. Its focus shifted from entertainment to education in 2015 when it became a cross-curricular learning tool in middle schools and high schools.

"Time Rewind's" flagship facility is Ball High School in Galveston, Texas, where the program is a fixture of the daily "Good Morning Ball High" video announcements and broadcasts throughout the day on the school’s K-TOR Internet radio station. Radio listeners also hear “Time Rewind” throughout the day in major markets including Dallas-Fort Worth (on Mesquite Independent School District’s KEOM) and Phoenix (on the East Valley Institute of Technology’s KPNG/The Pulse and KVIT/Neon 90.7), and smaller markets including Kingsport, Tennessee (on the Kingsport City School’s WCSK) and Linton, North Dakota (on Linton High School’s KLHS and KLPS).
