I’ve been quiet the last few days, but I’ve been busy! Y’all, I didn’t ever think Simply Yenni would be where it is today. For this holiday drop, I didn’t expect much bc honestly, it has been hard managing this biz that I so dearly love. But y’all came through. I ran out of stickers, boxes, earring backs, and tissue paper while packaging (oops) I should’ve never underestimated bc girlllll I was NOT prepared. To know that YOU purchased my art, to gift someone you love this season, or to treat your cute self with cute earrings for getting through another crazy year (so proud of you), I am overwhelmed. I am speechless and I have YOU to thank for it💛

It was fun packaging orders with my hubby & working with him in the studio. It was my first time asking him for help with packaging orders bc ya girl needed all the help she could get. I’m so grateful for him!

When my dad passed away, my mom and I both picked up new hobbies. I started playing with polymer clay and started Simply Yenni, and my mom began crocheting sponges.

These creative outlets of ours have brought healing & joy to the both of us. Going into the holiday season for the 2nd year without my dad has been hard; I randomly find myself bursting into tears missing him terribly even after being in a good mood the whole rest of day.

Grief is a weird thing and the holidays don’t make it much easier, but I’m so thankful that God gave us these outlets to help us process our grief and for us to have fun while time continues on. And I’ve met so many fantastic people along the way!

Are you a Thanksgiving or Christmas person? ✨

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite because of the food 😂 and there’s something so special about reflecting on what you are thankful for as you reflect on the year.

But the last couple of years, I’ve been falling more and more in love with Christmas. Not because the decorations, the colors, the sparkles, the gifts, nor the holiday cheer. But really because of what Christmas is all about.

I cry every Christmas morning thinking about the King of Kings, Lord of Lords being born in a manger. Of all places. As a place for animals, it must’ve smelled horrible with 💩 all around! But for Jesus to be born here on earth, in a stable - such humility. ♥️

I know this week is Thanksgiving & I’m getting ahead of myself hehe but let’s not forget the true meaning of what this Christmas season is about! 🥰✨

11/20/21 ✨ I turned 30 this weekend! 🥳
Thank you everyone for the sweet birthday wishes! Your DMs & messages were more than I could’ve asked for. I am so blessed to have met so many kind souls and life-giving friends through Simply Yenni💗

So, in the spirit of a new decade, I reflect on the last 10 years. Who knew your 20’s would carry some of your most defining moments?

Important life lessons I’ve learned:
• It is liberating to stop living your life for others and constantly trying to please them (enneagram 3 lessons 🙃)
• Your circle of close friends gets significantly smaller & it’s actually very relieving 😅
• Life isn’t all about succeeding. Failures are just as important and should even be celebrated 🙏🏼
• Sadness & grief are essential to experiencing joy. It’s not all about feeling happy emotions.♥️ True joy can only come from the Lord!
• Christianity is not about doing what’s right or wrong, but all about being in relationship with Him. His mercies are new every morning!🙌🏼
• Not being in control of my life actually takes the pressure off immensely. I find peace in knowing God’s got it all under control☺️

I’m sure I will have many more posts about starting this new decade, as I’ve learned so much. I like to think that my dad & my 25-year-old self would be proud of where I am today 🥰
