Our go-karts are ready to rumble!!! We don't know when we'll be able to reopen our laser tag arena and our arcade, but our mini-golf and track are open! Our restrooms are operational as well. Thanks again to our dedicated crew on the amazing clean up effort!!!!!!!

On May 29th of last year the social media manager of Speedy's suffered a cardiac arrest at a local Houston hospital and were unconscious for a matter of 12-20 seconds. When you go through something serious like that in life it changes you to your core in terms of priorities and viewing what's truly important in life. That's part the reason why Speedy's worked so hard over the past year to keep things running as safe and happy for our customers as possible as everyone else had their own trials and tribulations to contend with due to closures, health issues, etc. Seeing our customers be happy and have fun means the world to us and has helped us heal. To see a person return the favor of gratitude to us in such a manner today as is depicted in this video is beyond disheartening. We share this video not to shame anyone, but to let people know of the types of struggles businesses like ours deal with. People who think of their needs, desires etc first and who hold no regard for others. We wish that this person in the video receives better care and attention if they ever fall into a position where they need help than our social media manager received at that hospital. By the looks of things and seeing how prepared this person was we do think that this person might be okay with not receiving too much help as they seem to be really good at taking care of themselves and what's important to them.
#Staysafe actually means something totally different to us. During Speedy's closure (which ends 4/3/20 @ 11:59pm, which means we will reopen 4/4/20) we ask that everyone stay positive and focus on things that can be changed to help us both mentally and physically become better people and help us deal better with all that's going on right now. Lowering stress via the power of remembering to laugh and smile, exercise, meditate, etc. all help the immune system by lowering cortisol levels. A healthy and varied diet filled with insoluble fiber, probiotics, fruits & vegetables, healthy proteins and fats also work to help build a strong immune system. Exercise increases brain derived neurotrophic factor, increases bone density (when it is weight bearing), decreases blood pressure and resting pulse while raising HDL and lowering, LDL, VLDL and triglycerides. Exercise also increases endorphins. Please remember that there is far more that we can control with our own health than we give ourselves credit for, we just have to do the work. Hopefully when we reopen our doors there will be an extra effort by all people to keep sneezes and coughs properly covered and there'll also be an extra effort to help keep our hands clean from now on. When we all reemerge Speedy's will be there to help provide happiness, amusement and laughter as it's done for the last 30+ years.
