Good afternoon everyone! This year we have 43 Students that are participating in Fine Arts (a ministry of the Assembly of God where teens DISCOVER. DEVELOP. DEPLOY. the gifts that God has for them).

MESSAGE POINT: From buildings and roads, to robots and spaceships, humans are pretty good at building things. But we’re pretty good at destroying things too.
This might sound strange, but thousands of years ago, the physical structures humans built had a lot to do with how we related to God. Back then, God’s people (the nation of Israel) built a temple where they could worship and be in God’s presence. But then the temple was destroyed, along with everything they knew about how to be near to God. Israel asked God to give them a new temple, thinking it was the only way to be close to God again, but God had a better idea. Instead of building another building that could be destroyed, God created a brand new way to be near us.
It wasn’t a building, but a person (Jesus) and a brand new message: that Jesus came to rebuild what was destroyed, and it’s something so much better than a building. Jesus came to rebuild our relationships with God.

MESSAGE POINT: Everyone wishes they had a time machine sometimes, don’t they? Whether it’s to stop yourself from saying something stupid in front of your crush, to see where you’ll be in 10 years, or to experience your favorite moment in history firsthand, it would be pretty awesome to move around in time.
I know time machines don’t exist, but one of the reasons I love the Bible so much is that it kind of feels like a time machine to me. It’s the story of God who exists outside of time and who has had a plan to save us since before we (or even the universe) even existed. 2,000 years ago, God came to earth in the form of a man named Jesus, but prophets like Isaiah had been leaving us hints about God’s plan hundreds of years before that. And what was that plan? To set us free from brokenness and death. To make wrong things right. Before time even began, Jesus’ mission was to set people free.
