This past weekend, the Boys & Girls Club of The Salvation Army Garden City held an incredible Youth of the Year 2024 Car Wash Fundraiser! Led by our dedicated Program Manager Larry, our kids rolled up their sleeves and brought their A-game at the Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot.
From soapy sponges to enthusiastic smiles, our youth showed true motivation and teamwork in working toward their dreams of a brighter future!
To everyone who supported us, came through for a wash, or simply cheered on, we’re sending a HUGE thank you! And a special shoutout to Harris County ESD No.24/Aldine Fire & Rescue our community first responders, for coming by and showing their support!
Together, we’re driving forward and building brighter futures, one car wash at a time!

This past Saturday, we hosted our second Youth of the Year 2024/2025 meeting at the Houston International Corps! Kids from all of The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Clubs came together for a day of learning and growth.
Our amazing Youth of the Year Ambassadors were fully prepared to coach the kids as they presented their first essays. Students were split into age groups, and those needing extra help received one-on-one guidance.
Breakfast and lunch were provided for everyone, making it a full day of support and encouragement.
A huge thank you to all who attended and to our incredible ambassadors for their dedication!

On Sunday, some 220 Salvationists and friends of the Army, gathered at the Houston International Corps for their 22nd Anniversary Celebration. It was an incredible experience celebrating the diversity of all those who make up this unique family of God. There were many inspiring musical performances, and cultural expressions of worship, there was the appointing of a new Corps Sergeant Major and Assistant Corps Sergeant Major, the enrollment of new Senior Soldiers and Junior Soldiers.
The special guests, Commissioners Kelly & Donna Igleheart, USA Southern Territorial Leaders, brought inspiration and challenge to the soldiers, local officers and congregation, reminding all that we have been called for such a time as this, and we are warriors for the Kingdom of Heaven against the sin and darkness of this world. We are called to win souls and make disciples of Jesus.
Thank you, Commissioners Igleheart and Captains Kang, for an incredible day of celebration honoring God!
