These good balls helped take pics of my mom’s quilt too of course! And had a lot of fun doing it. 😂

I finally got a (mostly) full length shot of the quilt I made my mom. She’s doing well after her double lung transplant on September 6th, but I’m not giving it to her until she’s out of the ICU. So naturally I’ve been dragging my feet to get it photographed. It’s too cute and she’s going to adore it!
I love this Wild Weave Quilt pattern because it’s fast and you can use any fabric at all!

My mom’s quilt is done! I was able to finish the binding last night, but didn’t get to snap any pics of the full quilt yet.
I love how it came out, and I know mom is going to be thrilled! She is still in ICU after her double lung transplant last Friday, so I’m going to wait until she’s in a regular hospital room to bring it up since there’s a lot happening in her room right now.

Well I stayed up a bit later than normal and got the quilting finished!
The only issue was that my machine ate a bit of the edge of the quilt when I stepped away for a second. Oops. Swipe to the second pic to see the hole and to the third pic to see the patch on the tester at the top right. It’s mostly on the back of the quilt. It’ll work!
Now time to bind! Of course I’m using the striped print for that. Let’s go!

I was going to get this quilted tonight, but I’m honestly just tired and not feeling it. It’s been a busy few days and I think the stress and fatigue hit me a bit today at school. So I gave myself a break and zoned out doing nothing after dinner until bedtime. 😂
I decided on using Glide Tabriz Orchard thread and I picked a Fleur de Lis panto design (swipe to see). Hopefully I can work on it tomorrow! I doubt I’ll be able to give it to my mom until later in the week anyway so I’m not going to push myself too hard because the next 3 months are going to be rough being a caretaker.

So silly me bought a directional print for the backing and of course didn’t buy enough to do vertical piecing. 🤦🏼♀️ So I took the scraps from my 1/2 yard cuts and made a decorative center that works well enough to give me some extra length. Whew…crisis averted. 😂
Now time to load this on my longarm and hopefully get this quilted up tomorrow!

I finally got the top for my mom’s quilt finished! Here’s a super cute .

Exactly what I said was going to happen happened a few minutes after I started laying down blocks. This doodle likes to get all in the middle of it. 😂🤦🏼♀️
The blocks for my mom’s are all done and pressed! Here is where I wish I had a design wall. With 3 dogs my design floor doesn’t work so well. Unfortunately I have zero wall space for one. 😂
Sometimes the hardest part is arranging the blocks. 🤪
My strips are cut and pinned for a ! I ended up with a bunch of white prints in this Mardi Gras collection by so I tried to alternate them a bit within the blocks. I’m excited to see how it comes out. There are always some prints that take longer to cut so they look straight. 😂
Do you pin like this before you sew? I know some people hate to, but I feel like it speeds up my sewing time.
I’m using my new rotary cutter to cut into these beautiful Mardi Gras fabrics that I bought for my Mom quite a while back. We’re from New Orleans and I knew she would love this collection by .
Of course I kept putting it off, but she’s having surgery today and will be in the hospital a few weeks and I really wanted her to have a special quilt for her hospital bed. So here’s to speed quilting! 😂 🤦🏼♀️
Well…that’s one way to help. 🤦🏼♀️😂
Measure 7 times, cut once when it comes to cutting precuts. Am I right? 😂🤪 This Layer Cake of Hey Boo by from is all cut and ready for piecing. This new pattern is quick and both layer cake and FQ friendly! 🙌🏻
This quilt pattern is actually a companion pattern to my September pillow so I’m keeping it under wraps for the next couple weeks. 🤫
Finally getting started on my first Halloween quilt of the year! I was hoping to have it done by the end of the month but 😂
I got this adorable Hey Boo fabric by from and I can’t wait to start cutting!
I’m not normally a big precut person, but I’m working on a new pattern that uses 10” squares, so I’m excited to make a sample with this layer cake!
And of course I’m all about the brights for Halloween! Do you like your Halloween fabrics traditional colors or like these?

My Snu-ugly pillow sweater is done! I dove deep in my scraps to pull out this old Christmas print and some random green and red prints to use with the sweater templates from the Christmas Template Bundle Set 2. I love that you get two sizes in one! I decided on doing raw edge appliqué with Hotfix adhesive and it worked out great. Then I finished it up with the Holiday Lights pantograph by Jessica Schick.
With this project done, I think I need to get my Halloween projects going! 😂
