Another sterling silver piece I made while I had a cold and didn't feel like doing anything else. I cut the stone from a slab that my Uncle Kenneth Needham gave me, fabricated the setting, including making the shell by chasing and repousse. Made slight deviation from my original sketch that I did several years ago.

Here's the "after" photos of the restored spinning wheel. I got the wheel back together. The joints still had gaps but it's as good as it's going to get after 200+ years of existence. Had to straighten out the wheels crank arm to keep it from rubbing against the upright, replaced a few pegs, did a couple patches, make a couple new parts.

Here are the "before" photos of another spinning wheel restoration. The wheel was made too thin and a couple of the joints had shattered out and was being held together with electrical tape. The front leg didn't stay in, the horn bearings needed replaced, a back leg had a chunk missing, the leathers needed replaced, a few pegs had to be made, and the footman was missing. I also had to make an entire new flier assembly from scratch.

I don't do much of this anymore, my back can't take sitting still that long but I was officially trained to be a jeweler about 15 years ago.
