A lot has happened over the last several months
It has all been in an effort to focus more on the track side of things and bring Sarah more into the racing as we can.
We are now based on and around the McDonough Georgia area which allows us to focus on our careers as well as being more centrally located in the southeast region for wera!!
Here's some pics from the lady couple events and we will work to make the page more active for everyone following along
Thank you all for staying with us!
Let me brag for a moment please
This woman is the very definition of badass
We came and overnight rain left practice to be less than desirable conditions
Her and Paxton in practice were pacing each other. He's never seen the track and with slick track it was tough to go for it.....
Paxton goes out his first race and knocks off 6 seconds lol
We told her (a flat out lie I may add) she and Paxton are same pace so just chase him you got this
Then.......SHE WENT AND DID IT!!
she knocked 8 full seconds off her times and even with Paxton getting even faster here she was within 2 seconds of his best lap!
I am beyond proud of how she and Paxton both overcame mental blocks today and just killed it
Race report:
Late but whatever sorry
Friday: cold as usual at tally in February. Practice went ok. As you see I'm on a completely new to me machine this year prepped for my big ol butt by Jeff Cottingham and he does a great job of letting me just be able to ride no worrying
Sarah Crowell and Paxton Cottingham both got their race certificate from stt and became provisional novices!!
Saturday
Race 1 CSS started 12 ended 7th
I need to relearn everything haha. There's no low end torque safety net with the R6 you just have to ring it's neck the whole time! I'm just thrilled to death to already be faster than I was on the zx even being less than comfortable as you can see in the pics I'm also very happy being competitive!!
Red flag drops and it wasn't until I got to the Pits I knew who it was. Here's to a speedy and full recovery Emily Prince
Race 2 V8MW started 7 ended 3rd
better start but not great still
Battled for a few laps with Cooksey not realizing that we were battling for second place!!
Sunday:
CSS good riding but a few offs in the sprint and managed a 6th after a racer protest but it's fine haha. Top 10 in points has me giggling! So much different than last year
V8MW
This race was the one. I had an absolute crap star which had me leaving turn1 with about 2 bikes between me and literally everyone else
Within a lap we were all back in a group battling, and I mean all!!
I looked up and I see Steven Gird who I knew was in front but he was right there! WTF!?!? 7-8 LAPS OF 7 BIKES fighting for position is legitimately exhausting haha. We caught up to lap traffic and that's when the gaps started happening. Came out of that whole deal in 3rd.
White flag! Ok here we go. I know someone is gonna try something. Leaving turn 3 I look over the shoulder just to check and I see the unmistakable bright as f helmet of Eron Trover within striking distance. Figured he'd try something in farmhouse so I gave him a little room on the outside.....he took it!! Gotcha!! We both late brake into farmhouse and I mean LATE! we tip in side by side very close to not making it and then I see it........the other bike that was there I never saw
We gave it to him... Gggaaahhhhhhb
Margin at the line between me and 3rd was 0.139
Good first weekend! Set new pb at tally and my new average lap also dropped considerably

Big changes and announcements coming for 2022
We've been busy but we'll do better

Great battles all weekend
Big improvement all weekend
Finished every race! Thank you to all the incredible friends that help get us here
We are beyond ecstatic to be where we are. Only been riding track for one year as of this weekend.
We opted out of the c superstock and superbike classes this year as we just don't have a competitive machine or skillset yet. That's going to change and we will be out there next year with y'all again. We added the lightweight twins classes to replace them at roebling in may.
We have improved and we will be competitive in more classes next year than this year. But to be where we are with what we have we are beyond thrilled!
Race recap, it's a long one do buckle up,
Rolled into Road A super late Friday after a rain washed the place out. Packed but quiet paddock. Unloaded and went to bed.
Tech and registration then the first person that cones over as ALWAYS, Joey Hatheway cones down the hill smiling big as always!!
I brought the little bike to continue getting used to that riding style (more on why in future posts but it's more very big news)
I'm getting ready to go out first race of Saturday and hear there's a red flag so we just wait it out. Not knowing what had happened we just went out. Stock geared, stock suspension, stock everything z650 and a 270lb rider make the back straight a huge disadvantage but we stayed with the pack for the majority of those races.
Managed a 4th and a 9th in the Saturday races on the little bike and ahead of a couple others which honestly was not expecting this trip out.
We then learned it was joey that had been hurt in his race. Hated hearing this.
We ended Saturday feeling good on the small twins bike and we are getting used to the "brake" markers haha (there aren't any on these little things we are finding out)
Sunday we just wanted to improve, we did! Dropped 2 seconds off our laptimes with some killer wisdom from Kevin Netto .
We also got to see Mr Tim Debusk out in the wilds of the paddock after his injuries that brought some joy into the evening!
V8 Sunday we got a great start and we're running with the pack and feeling hyped up. A rider from another class left the track and came back on which got us out of shape and we lost our momentum, but sometimes that's just how racing is. We settled in and started pushing to try and at least catch back up.
As we started lap 3 we were making up some ground and then as we topped turn 1 into the shicane saw what we hate, Mitch Cato had an incident that red flagged our race right in front of us.
Hate it. Glad he's doing better and word is he is being released today with a concussion and soreness.
The 3rd place finish doesn't feel earned at all due to the crash and the previous incident pushing us way back.
At the end of the day I'm making the long walk back to the pit and what do I see? Joey "the legend" Hatheway smiling looking for me to say hi after being released from the hospital!! Made my whole weekend. So happy to see him back at the track in any capacity so quickly.
I love this paddock, I love these people. We are improving, we are still pushing. I will get faster, I will make you all proud
Big news coming about the future for us in this sport
Thank you all if you've managed to read this far, remember what today is all about. See you all at Barber, let's heal up, get the bikes ready, and we will meet again
Da pits
Sights and sounds Road A cycle jam
It's time we started making our lives slightly easier haha
Captive spacers and new bearings on the way
Race report:
Alright, saturday! Endurance day. Teamed up with Steven Gird and Jose Luis Tiburcio-Brens for the relay. We had a plan and we're feeling great to get started. Towed jose in practice at a chill pace to show him the track and he took to it quickly.
We set our order and put steven first, jose second and I'd finish it off at the end...... And that's about the last time s**t made sense haha
Steven goes out first stint and had a decent start, 36 bikes headed into turn 1 is nutty lol.
No incident and he had a good stint.
Jose goes out and was looking good so I got ready. We head to the pit to swap for my first stint and jose took longer than we thought but he showed up so I went out. First 4 laps I settled into a groove... Then it went sideways, exiting turn 2 I hit the gas and got the wobbles. Thought maybe I just upset the bike I got the wobbles again in turn 3..... Then 4. Ok do it's not me... Something is wrong. Maybe a flat tire? No...... Wtf is going on!? Arm up limp it to the pits. Then I hear it... Rear tire wobbling and some grinding. Crap... Wheel bearing.
I get it to put road but my team isn't ready (not their fault this was just terrible timing. I had to leave hot pit to get them which officially ends my first stint according to the rules.
I get stevens attention, signal I'm broke. He suits upwe swap the transponder and he goes out
It was at this time I realize that jose crashed in his first stint... O s**t!!
So I help slam his bike together, we get him re teched then I focus on removing my rear axle via sledge hammer and find the bad parts. The bearing broke the cage and took out the spacer as well.
Full on panic rush/thrash mode engaged! Im running around the pits looking for parts and help! Jeff Cottingham snatched up the bad wheel and swapped my tire to the good wheel in like 0 seconds flat thank you brother for always being there when I need, and even when I don't.
At this moment I remember talking with James Bock about people leaving spacers all the time. Ran over to him and holy s**t he had one!! Tire guys saved our asses all day Saturday!!
I get it back together then we look at the time. Jose had been out at this point for 45 minutes. Im the only rider still eligible.
Well here we go, time to sack up! We made the call to go out and try to conserve fuel. I rolled off hot put with a touch over an hour left in the race. Doesn't sound like much until you're out there doing it! 45 minutes in my right foot has gone numb lol. At about 50-52 minutes my fuel light comes on... Damn
I pull in and the team was there with gas so we got to do a fuel stop in a relay lol
Then I heard the sweetest words I've heard in a long time... "Hey bro you got like 5 minutes left"
It was like a shot of energy I needed lol
Went out and my second to last lap was a new PB laptime at Roebling lol
We finished the race ahead of 2 teams somehow after all that and I. Totally fine with that hahaha
Sunday the grids were packed! Picked up a podium in V8 and ran the baby bike for the first time in a race. Pro tip, they are a completely different riding style and launch lol. Knocked 4 seconds off my lap times between the first and second races
Learned a ton about myself this weekend, and man this track family is real!!
Was a blast all weekend. Not where we wanna be but improving everytime
What a weekend!
Thank you to those that even just stop by and encourage me throughout these tough weekends!
Jeff Cottingham Kevin Netto Joey Hatheway Mark Merical Craig Huey Stewart
Congrats joey on that 14 btw good lord bro that's rocket ship fast!
We are here and ready to relay!
Good morning Roebling road
Lets get it in today!
Barber.. thank you for a windy yet beautiful day
Until next time
See you at barber sunday!
Well be there shaking down the new (to us) bike and seeing what we're going to change for roebling
Knew the front felt light lol
This was a good drag race up the front straight near the end of our second stint in the endurance relay
2 weeks and we do it again!
Barber may 9
Well
We ran the endurance relay under the name Dearborn derby sunday at CMP
Aaron Dearborn and Stephen Gird invited us to come play in the rain and we had a blast.
We had a hell of a fight going for second place before a late off followed by a red flag ended the race
We couldn't be happier with how it all went. 3 guys that never knew eachother a month ago came together just winging it, called a few audibles and everything was working out great. Everyone progressively got faster as the day went on.
We will be back and do this again.
Had a blast guys thank you for the opportunity!
Well, we got our accomodations for CMP endurance figured out!
Now let's get loaded up and get there!!
See you all at the track for the weekend shenanigans!
Here we are back at the stables
Doing some minor prep work for CMP this weekend!
Who's ready for some WERA Motorcycle Roadracing !?
Team cake is participating in our first ever endurance race Saturday we're doing the relay under the name Dearborn derby teaming up with Stephen Gird from team NYDR and the one that got us in, the man the myth, the legend Mr. AofD himself, Adam Dearborn. Motivation speaker of the year haha
Just thrilled to be a part of all this in our first year of competition
Well, made it back from Jennings with time to start looking forward.
After CMP we will be taking a weekend off from track to regroup and do some maitenence needed on the tow rig and trailer.
Not a planned break but a needed one
Jennings run report
Rainy day, ran D.O.T tires
Frank Delarenta drove all the way up from Miami to deliver us his personal bike so we can go twins racing soon and into next year after some changes to the bike. We can't thank him enough for what he does for those around him!
Miss Sarah came out today to saddle up the R3 for the second time. Bike is completely stock on OEM tires and no warmers on a damp to wet track. She ran consistent low 1:51 lap times her first time here!!
We like this track as it kinda has something for everyone and helps work on rhythm. We will be back!
When one of your parts reps cones through huge for you!!
Thank you Todd Jackson Smith for getting these here during a national backorder!!
The team leader laying down on the job so now we gotta put in the overtime lol
Just keep pushing never give up!
We had a rough weekend but we have more weekends comin
Big delivery for team cake from Frank De La Renta himself at jennings!
We are pretty excited
We'd say it's a pretty damn good match
Thank you Motogem race leathers for your superfast turnaround and incredible customer service!
Well...
Team cake is going twins racing!!
May be out after the june break but this is our ride for next year!
LWT. Very excited!!
Race recap little tally
Saturday was a s**tshow. Heavy rain in the a.m. had us excited. We legitimately like the rain as we are typically very competitive in it. So we went out for both practice (I never do that)
Felt good. Rides meeting, drizzle and mist moving in. Decided right then to leave the rains on.
Emily Prince was first out in minis so we all got a track report which further solidified us keeping the rains on. Left the pressures set for very wet conditions. (This is where it starts to go south) Nothing could prepare anyone for how fast the track dried nearly instantly. Went out made 2 laps at pace and went to brake for turn one and the front just went to bouncing bad!!! Tried to shake it off, started pushing again and same thing happened. Decided to pull in, about 2 minutes after being in checked front pressure and it had jumped to 46 psi!!! Welp there's the problem. Quick flip on some trackday slicks and we went out for our second race. Went in thinking it was time for our rematch!
We had a great back and forth going, she got me in 3, next lap the only option I had was to out brake her going into 2 and yes... Some poo came out but I got her. As you can see she did not let me just take it lol. Less than 30 seconds after this pic I would let my earlier events rattle me and when driving into one I panic brakes, fixated and ended up running off. Absolute my own fault. Not taking anything from her she got me, she never let me get away, and she ran a clean session. The next 3 races were simply about survival.
There were a lot of crashes and runoffs on a very green track all weekend due to weather.
Speedy recovery to riders and machines!
We survived, we are here to try again. Never giving up but we may focus on certain classes rest of the year and less iron man stuff
A day in the life... well a weekend really
Overall we remained upright, no crashes (couple of runoffs) but we survived a very mentally exhausting and emotional weekend filled with tons of struggle.
We finished all our races sunday after an extremely tough Saturday. Weather, tires, mechanical issues, mental blocks. We still grabbed some points and stayed in the game
Till next time at CMP
