Alabama A&M University Nutrition and Hospitality Management Students and Faculty Embark on Inspirational Journey to FNCE in Denver
Denver, Colorado - Nutrition and dietetics students and faculty from Alabama A&M University recently had the privilege to delve into the dynamic world of nutrition and dietetics at the Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo (FNCE) in Denver, Colorado.
FNCE, organized by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, is a remarkable event that unites professionals, experts, students, and enthusiasts in the realm of nutrition. The students and faculty members participated in a wide array of sessions, workshops, and seminars, where they were exposed to cutting-edge research, innovative approaches to dietetics, and the future trends in nutrition.
The conference also featured a vibrant expo, where various companies and organizations showcased their latest products and services. This provided the Alabama A&M attendees with a unique opportunity to explore emerging technologies and dietary products that could potentially revolutionize their practices.
One of the major highlights of the event was the opportunity for networking. Students had the chance to interact with established professionals, while faculty members connected with peers from across the nation. These interactions not only expanded their professional networks but also provided them with a broader perspective on the challenges and opportunities within the field. As they return to their classrooms and careers, they carry with them the inspiration and knowledge they gained at this year's FNCE event in Denver.
Attendees:
DPD director Dr. Brittannie Chester
Dr. Rhona Cebert

This experience at FNCE in Denver will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the students and faculty of Alabama A&M University's Nutrition and Hospitality Management program, as they continue their journey in the ever-evolving field of nutrition and dietetics.
The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences' Nutrition and Hospitality Management (NHM) Club had a fantastic event on Thursday, October 12, 2023!
This color party was a great opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to come together, enjoy healthy and delicious food, and have a fun time in color-coordinated style. The event also had the bonus of allowing everyone to discuss nutrition and foster a sense of community within the NHM Club.
Dr. Christian and Mrs. Burden's visit as representatives from the College of Agricultural, Life and Natural Sciences (CALNS) added an educational aspect to the event.
They introduced themselves and shared insights into their roles, possibly indicating how they can assist FCS students in their academic journey and beyond. This kind of interaction can be very beneficial for students looking for guidance and support during their college years.
There were winners for the color-coordinated teams. Yellow, green, and pink teams took the top spots, with red receiving an honorable mention. Everyone put a lot of thought and effort into their color-themed presentations, making the event not only enjoyable but also visually appealing.
The enthusiasm and success of this NHM Club activity bode well for future events. It's an excellent way to build a sense of community and share knowledge within the field of Nutrition and Hospitality Management.
