“PUTTING PEOPLE FIRST” A smart choice for people over power for our community!
Want to thank The Enquirer Journal for the opportunity to share these questions to our community, I take them very serious and as a running candidate position for Town Council of Indian Trail, NC.
1. Why do you want to be a member of Council in your municipality?
In my service to our community over the years, personally I’ve seen a lack of due diligence, lack of respect for others, and a lack of transparency to work with our community. I truly believe we can improve by taking the time to show less power and lean more towards the people when we hold such positions in the local government.
2. How long have you been living in your municipality and what do you like or love about it?
I am a native to Charlotte, NC and have lived in Indian Trail, NC for 10 years. I moved with my family to Indian Trail for the small town feel, better schools which we love, and the connectedness we thought it would be to make an impact.
3. In what way do you think your municipality can be improved?
I am a community leader, but I can better serve as an asset to our community in a position as a Town Council Member by putting the power back into the people’s voices, enhance or add policies necessary that benefit all (or at least majority), add support to community projects, and hold firm to budgetary needs that put citizens first.
4. What do you want the residents of your municipality to know about you?
My first and foremost goal if elected is to bring more professionalism and respect to our citizens, acknowledging the concerns, and encouraging involvement in direct decision making. When it comes to spending taxpayers dollars, we need to “PUT INDIAN TRAIL CITIZENS FIRST”, as a local representative there is “NO I” in TEAM, we need to work together.
5. As Councilman/Councilwoman, what role do you believe you can play that can make your municipality a better place for your residents?
A major role I know I can bring is supporting all of our citizens equally, by listening, implementing committees of residents, stakeholders, staff, and council members that show unity and balance. Our community deserves to enjoy what we all work hard for. We want everyone to be proud of where we live, trust our local government to represent us well, and have fun while doing it together.
Our community is amazing! So honored to be a community leader and be able to support and work with so many nonprofits here in Union County as well as Indian Trail!!
If elected one of my goals is to bring our people together to volunteer as a Town and Team so no one feels alone! “Community First”

Good morning ☀️ let’s get back to what matters most ALL of OUR CITIZENS!
If you VOTE KLAUS on November 7th my goal is to implement some must needed community involvement and committees.
Along with our Planning Board, Adjustments, and other committees we need a Town Beautification and Small Business Involvement Committees. This will help to have more community input, more open collaboration with our citizens, put everyone’s tax dollars to better use in improving areas within the Town so we can enjoy now.
In our Local Government, whether you are a Town Council Member, Town Manager, Staff, or Government Employee, it is our job to put our Community first, make the best decisions and find solutions for all citizens, it’s time to take more responsibility in listening and taking our time in the growth of our Town!
I’m excited about representing Indian Trail!
As much as I did not want to waste time on this because it’s nothing but a political fodder…FACTS and TRUTH is the only thing that counter act SLANDER & BIGOTRY!
This was posted on a very divisive page, and a video that has been poorly put together (lacks integrity, divides our community, and is slanderous) by Union County No Rinos Club who are running for Indian Trail Town Council. Our community deserves better, we need to get back to working on roads, community unity, adding beautification, and building a better community!
This is a statement I made to stop and have to this video taken down for SLANDER!
Good morning ☀️ this will be the only comment I will ever make on this page, I have asked professionally to take this down.
First and foremost this page does nothing good for Indian Trail at all, its divisive to the community.
FACTS, RESEARCH, & EDUCATION is NEEDED This video is SLANDEROUS…to even insinuate an emoji with the devil is slanderous.
#1 linking a video of New York City has nothing to do with myself or my business( false statement and slanderous and to make a rash inference this embraces this lifestyle is accusatory) this is just being used as political fodder.
#2 The Pride flyer presented in the video was sent out to all candidates running for Town Council, to their emails. What does this have to do with myself as Heather Klaus or my business?
#3 Kimberli’s Place is a local community shop in Indian Trail started on behalf of an Indian Trail Teacher and dear friend who lost her life to mental health, our shop donates to help nonprofits in our community and provides local small businesses revenue and business support! We will remain open to all citizens in our community despite their race, religion, ethnicity, gender, or political affiliation (this is slanderous and spreading rumors that affects one’s reputation) “Our gender neutral bathroom” is in a house once zoned residential now zoned commercial, which is meant for only one person at a time.
#4 Extremely slanderous and direct accusations as stated from Union County Rinos Club candidates running for Indian Trail Town Council that your children are in harms way or misleading to the public that they are unsafe (SLANDEROUS) I have asked this to be taken down and do your research.
#5 I am an educator in our community we are first and foremost accepting of all, it’s our job and I have lots of training, certifications, and degree to be inclusive to all students and families in our education system. Stated that this embraces the lifestyle, I will include all humans with equality. Yet again another lie and false slanderous comments.
#6 What in the world does high density have to do with inclusiveness, DO YOUR RESEARCH.. as put out again in Town Council Public meeting whether you running for Town Council or on the Board, Integrity, Truth, and Respect for our Town is expected from our Local Government.
This is slanderous and extreme bigotry!
None of them have been in or been involved in our shop or events for our community. We have numerous partnered nonprofits we work with.
“Again I am a humanitarian, the rights of all people over power”
We need PEOPLE OVER POWER!
Indian Trail needs someone with humanitarian views, values, and morals to lead with the people first!!
There is so much to improve on in Indian Trail, but we can’t do it with all this nonsense let’s get back to what matters our community!
