Where have we been??

Hello Bungalow Friends. Where have we been? It’s been quite a while since we have chatted, hasn't it?

Over the last year, I’ve become a new mom, opened and closed a storefront, and learned A LOT.

Before diving back into a consistent routine with Bungalow House Studio I wanted to do it in a time where I could provide consistency and intentionality. I’m so excited to dive back into sending notes of encouragement to my favorite community every week!

Tuesday Encouragement - FOTS: GOODNESS
This week we return to our Fruit of the Spirit (FOTS) Series with: GOODNESS.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 6:22-23

Are we good? Do we produce goodness?

No, not on our own.

But that is why it is a fruit of the Spirit. We can’t produce goodness on our own, in fact I read a footnote in the ESV Study Bible that said: “[God’s] goodness and loving kindness stand in stark contrast to the description of lost humanity.” That footnote was in response to Titus 3:4-5. It’s clear that as humans, we cannot produce goodness on our own, that’s why we see so much darkness in this world. But with God, Oh with God, we see so much goodness!

So as I reflect on what this means for our Tuesday Encouragement, I think of the woman reading this right now who may not be certain how she may pay all her bills this month. I think of the exhausted mom who is trying to take care of her sick children. I think of the couple still trying to have a family. I think of all of us, who are facing darkness in our fallen world.

I pray that you see God’s goodness and loving kindness that stands in “stark contrast” to your situation. Did you know, that the love that God has for you is infinity x infinity of all the people who have ever loved you? Yeah, a God like that is not going to let you down.

That’s the kind of goodness that I want to stand behind. How about you?

Tuesday Encouragement - "CATCHING UP?"
Welcome to 2024! How are you doing? Generally, we start the New Year feeling a little exhausted. The Holiday’s are finally slowed down and now we are trying to play catch up.

But you know something that I have found funny about the phrase “catching up”? I use this phrase all the time, and each time I remember a quote someone once said. The phrase went something like, “On this side of eternity we are literally meant to never be able to fully ‘catch up.’”

Sounds a little pessimistic?

Well if you are feeling like you’ve been on a constant cycle of never ending lists then that is actually completely normal. We are all in the same boat. When you feel overwhelmed by this repetitive cycle, you can be encouraged that you are not alone.

Yes, be encouraged and take heart. What you are doing today does matter. However, your challenge today is to put on hold that endless cycle you feel that you are on. Take some time to spend with the Lord and reset your priorities. I find that when I do this, it brings me closer to the One who cares about me AND helps me prioritize what is really important. After spending some time with the Lord, your list may not seem so long after all.

A Letter From Our Founder:

HELLO BUNGALOW FAMILY!

I am back in full swing with our newest little crew member, JP! My husband, Christian, and I are so thankful for our baby boy. One of my favorite things about this new season is to see my husband grow into such an incredible Dad. His constant sacrifice and love for our family keeps me going and allows me to be Mom while on this entrepreneurial journey. There are so many things to be excited for in 2024! What are you most excited about? We want to celebrate with you!

As we enter this New Year, our team wants to share with you our two main goals for this year:

First!! Something we are excited about is FINALLY opening COMMISSIONS back up!! More details will come to you soon, but boy have I missed painting your homes and starting this year Bungalow will be partnering with our sister business Persimmon Avenue to support a local non-profit supporting single moms. The saying “it takes a village” is so true and we want to help support those who need our help! Stay tuned in the coming weeks to hear more about how you can be a part of this. In the meantime, if you have a home that you would like me to paint for you, then hit “reply” to this email and I will get you added to the list!

Second!! Our team is seeking to grow more relationships with brick and mortars across the country. We know we have readers all across the US and if you have any recommendations for shops in your town, please reply to this email with the shop name! How can you tell when someone is wise?

Is it grey hair, an intelligent thought, the way they gently correct?

I don’t know about you, but I want to be known as someone who was wise and humble rather than prideful and disgraceful. Proverbs like 11:2 are guideposts that teach us how to grow in wisdom rather than disgrace.

My personal goal, as each day passes, is that the choices I make reflect one of a humble spirit. Think about it, you literally are growing into the person that you want to be each day - whether you think about it or not.

The question is: Will your choices today be a reflection of you as someone who was prideful or full of humility?

It’s not an easy thing to type knowing there are many people reading this, from all different backgrounds, but it is the truth.

It is something that is worth reflecting on and sharing, because your life matters too much not to.
