This is a shot, Capt. Wilson and some of the The Pathfinders were one of the detachments assigned to the Security Detachment. One of their functions was to be the first into a landing zone and serve as air traffic controllers. Since I was shooting all parts of the base, I thought I should go out on one of their missions. So I got up at 05:00, got my equipment, and went to the pickup point. We all stood around for an hour, and they were told the mission was scrubbed.
