With so much information about rotating the lower half for pitchers, here’s some good insight on rotating the torso. Healthy torso rotation tends to lead to: 1. A smooth arm spiral 2. More natural shoulder ER (external rotation) Ways to improve torso rotation: 1. Better pelvis rotation 2. Having a strong glove side (squeezing and having a stronger glove side through ball release)

Everything you need to know about separation in the swing🤓 What is it? It’s the ability to get your hands back as the body moves forward✅ Why is it important? Guys will hit balls harder and see the ball longer✅ What are common separation issues we see in younger guys? Guys can’t time that move up properly. Some guys start getting their hands back too early (before body moves forward) and some guys too late (after body starts moving forward) 🙅🏻♂️ Do you separate correctly?
Rotate those hips❗️ Drill #1: TRX Rotation Iso- using a TRX strap, getting him to max hip “drive” while keeping the hands back (3 second push) Drill #2: Partner “Hip Hold” Overcoming Iso- really trying to rotate those hips while a partner is holding those hips back. Really gets you to push through what max hip rotation feels like Drill #3: PVC Swings- max effort swings with something light in the hands. Trying to be very quick here Do you need to rotate better in your swing?
Managing multiple stressors replicates game-like scenarios🗣️ Main goal: challenge their motor skills👊🏼 Wanted to increase difficulty by turning it into a race, having the ball in different positions relative to the body, etc. These additional stimulus variables require the athlete to recognize and manage multiple external stressors while still completing the “simple” task of balancing the ball🧐 If they can deal with high amounts of stress during training they will be better equipped to handle in-game stressors🙌🏼 Sign up link in bio!
