Parents should be aware that Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) is a severe but rare condition linked to SARS-CoV-2 infection, impacting a child's heart, lungs, and other organs. While the number of MIS-C cases has reduced since 2020, new cases are still being reported.
As of 2023, MIS-C is mainly seen in unvaccinated children and those whose immunity from previous vaccinations has waned. To prevent MIS-C, it is crucial to keep up with COVID-19 vaccinations and follow other preventive measures to guard against SARS-CoV-2 infection.

What is Long COVID?
Long COVID describes a cluster of symptoms occurring after a COVID-19 infection
that can range from mild to debilitating. Symptoms may include fatigue, chest pain, brain fog, dizziness, abdominal pain, joint pain, and changes in taste or smell. These symptoms can last for weeks, months, or years. Learn more about LONG COVID at www.CDC.gov.
