This sustainable Sunday let’s talk reusable bottles and cups. Reusable bottles are a great way to keep single use plastic bottles out of the landfill. And just like reusable bags, they are a great way to express yourself.
There are so many options out there, you can go large, small, plain with a logo, funny saying or adding your own stickers to make it entirely your own design. The possibilities are endless! Many companies, such as Starbucks and Cups Espresso Cafes, might give you a small discount if you use your own cup.
“I love changing out my reusable bottles and cups based on the season or how I’m feeling that day. And, it’s helped me stay way more hydrated while working outside at the zoo.” -JZ Keeper Courtney
🌟Comment with your reusable bottles & cups & tell us where you got them! 🌟

🎉 While you’re getting hyped for the game, here’s a fun fact to roar about: Did you know the Sumatran Tiger, like the ones at the Jackson Zoo, is the smallest of all tiger subspecies? These fierce felines are known for their unique stripes and are critically endangered, with fewer than 400 left in the wild. 🐯💔
Make plans to visit us at the Jackson Zoo and see these magnificent creatures up close! Who knows, you might even catch them on the prowl after celebrating a Tigers win! 🐾

Happy National Wildlife Day-September 4th!
At the Jackson Zoo, we’re privileged to care for a wide range of species, each with their own unique role in the ecosystem.
Protecting wildlife means protecting our future as well. Every effort, big or small, makes a difference. Whether it’s supporting conservation programs, advocating for endangered species, or simply spreading awareness, your actions have the power to create lasting change.
Let’s make every day a day to protect and cherish our planet’s incredible biodiversity.

Today is Reusable Bags! This is a great way to help the environment and reduce all those plastic bags that end up cluttering our cabinets. They are great for groceries, farmers markets, carrying craft supplies, or your kids favorite toys.
Some stores will also give you a small discount if you bring your own bag. Many bags are made from recycled materials or cotton- which means easy cleaning. And, there are so many designs it’s easy to find some that match your personal style!

We have talked about cooling down with ice treats for The resident mammals, but how do cool off?
Reptiles, like the , thermoregulate! They do this by going in and out of the water to cool off and warm up.
When they are on land, they will open their mouths to help
*regulate* a consistent temperature.
