Whether your home is vacant, or you currently are living there, there is always room for improvement or clean up, and staging is a great way to do that!
As we are moving into a buyers market where homes sit on the market for a longer period of time, how are we going to have your home stand out compared to others?
The goal when preparing your home for sale is to give the buyers the best opportunity to visualize themselves in that space. Sometimes what fits our niche style, isn’t always what will allow the buyers to see themselves in the easiest way, and when we live in a home for a long time, it is hard to see for ourselves the items that should be removed, or even just relocated!
If the home is empty, it is especially hard for buyers to see the size of the space, and often times, buyers think the space is actually smaller than it is (especially in the bedroom). I can’t tell you how many showings I have had in empty houses where they say “I don’t think my King size bed will fit here” when in reality, the King size bed would fit with plenty of space if we were to measure it out! Let’s not give them the opportunity to worry about that, or pass on your house, simply because they think it won’t fit their furniture.
At your marketing consultation when we are preparing to sell your home, I will do a walkthrough of the house and let you know what I think should be added or removed with regard to furniture and decorations. But don’t just take it from me! I will also include a 1 hour consultation with an interior designer that will come in and recommend what should be changed. She will can even bring a few pieces of her own to add to the space, and tell you what you should be taking away if there is anything.
If your home is vacant, I will have recommendations on professionals who are able to bring items to furnish and decorate “hot spots” where it is most important to have staging in your home!
