Tonight we started another round of our mentoring program in the juvenile jail. We are grateful for the opportunity to build relationships with some amazing young men in our sessions and walk alongside them in their journey.

Congrats to the graduates of our 2023-2024 Boselli Teacher Fellowship who have spent a great deal of time investing in themselves to ensure their students are successful. We are proud of each of them for the work they have done to become more student-centered educators and can’t thank them enough for all they do at their schools.

As 2022 comes to a close, we have much to celebrate. Our largest cohort of teacher fellows, expanding our mentoring program in detention centers, and collaborating with new partners to broaden our impact, to name just a few. One of the most significant highlights was watching our founder, get inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame, a well deserved honor! What a year this has been!
We are grateful to work alongside such an inspiring group of educators dedicated to creating more equitable schools for students to thrive, mentors committed to bringing hope to young men, and like minded organizations investing in our city.

A big thanks to the Jacksonville University men’s basketball team for inviting boys in our mentorship program at the Hastings Youth Academy to spend time with them this week. The boys got to know the players, played a few games in the new practice facility, and took a tour of campus. The team did a great job making the boys feel welcome and helped open their eyes to future possibilities.

This week we started another round of our mentorship program at the Hastings Youth Academy. Thanks to our partnership with the Department of Juvenile Justice, we are able to offer our program to more sites, empowering more young men.
We are grateful for our team of facilitators who make this work possible and for those who recently joined our team to help us expand. It is encouraging to watch these men give hope and support by being present and in their willingness to listen to participants as they share.
Thank you , Roy, Hamilton, and Warren for joining us in this important work and for investing in the lives of deserving young men! We are grateful for each of you and all that you do to make this a special experience for our participants.
Finishing the year strong with a session on how to build student’s confidence and motivate them to engage in the learning process.
We also celebrated making it to the semifinals in the 2023 Teacher of the Year process. We’re cheering her on as the finalists will be announced this coming Wednesday!
Topics of this month’s discussion with teachers in their second year of our fellowship included ways to implement student’s culture in our classrooms and strategies to build trust.
This group is intentional to build a classroom culture where students feel safe and supported and we love hearing how they are excelling as a result!
Tonight our teacher fellows focused on repositioning relationships with students as the key in helping culturally and linguistically diverse learners authentically engage in the classroom.

Tonight we had the privilege of leading the first session in the JPEF Teacher of the Year Bootcamp series. Fostering inclusive classrooms where all students feel like they belong was the focus of our time together. Thank you to for allowing us to be a part of such a great event and for your leadership in the education arena in Jax!
We have partnered with for several years through our teacher fellowship and are grateful to be a part of all they are doing to support and celebrate teachers. We look forward to continuing our conversation together around becoming more culturally responsive educators in November!
This week our team had the privilege of attending the Building Resilience: Breaking the Stigma of Mental Health Summit put on by the Department of Juvenile Justice. Service providers from across the state gathered to share strategies for successful programming to better serve system-involved youth. We enjoyed connecting with others who share a similar passion for empowering young men in the justice system.
A big thanks to Mr.Starke for believing in our mentoring program and for helping us expand to serve more young men across Florida. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with him and his team!
This weekend we celebrated our founder, the Jaguar’s first draft pick and now the first Hall of Famer.
