Just popping in to remind you, we politely ask that your hair (and your bridal parties) is freshly clean, either day before or morning of, and fully dry!

Unfortunately someone once told someone that hair holds better dirty, and for a lot of the modern styling that just isn’t true.

Here are some tips for your style to last all night:

-a blow out is the absolute best prep.
(If you can’t get a blow out, make sure to use mousse and blow dry your hair to give your hair a good base for your styling appointment!)

-come with 2-3 inspo pics of hairstyles that match your hair color. Try to pay attention to what you like about each. (Some common questions we ask are about how much hair you want left out around your face if any, volume in the style, ears showing or tucked, texture vs. smooth)

-if you want face framing, make sure to schedule an appointment with your stylist prior and get those trimmed! If your hair that you want in the framing is too long, sweat, and a lot of touching can transfer the oil from your hands and make them fall. If your hair is cut properly these pieces can be laid so they don’t bother you, and have a better survival rate. ( we also have no issue with some day of adjustments to make the style perfect ✂️😘)

-if you’re wanting your hair down in the middle of summer (or just for the style to look it’s absolute best, like the picture you have from Pinterest) consider purchasing extensions. Even a single row can give your hair something to grip and form to, resulting in a longe flashing style.

Honorable mention that I wish was common public wedding knowledge : STEAM YOUR DRESSES THE NIGHY BEFORE. If you can’t or don’t have the time to do it the night before, please please PLEASE delegate the task to someone who hasn’t gotten hair or makeup done yet, and try to do it away from the action. Moisture + fresh hair and makeup makes me want to cry. Especially for the perfect face framing 😭😅❤️

Did you know that your skin is the largest organ in your body?

It’s also the most important part of any makeup application. Think of it as the foundation while building a house. With a weak foundation, the entire house could collapse.

I always tell my brides that the real prep begins with them, taking care of their skin, via treatments such as dermaplaning, facials, moisturizing daily and most importantly SUNSCREEN.

As we head into the winter months, it may slip the minds of many.

It’s so important in the colder months to wear sunscreen, because in some cases it’s almost worse because the light can refract harshly off the snow!

Try and find moisturizers or foundations that have spf in them, to help get into the habit of protecting your skin!
