In collaboration with Green Earth Electronics Recycling, Kalamazoo Valley Community College is hosting an Earth Day recycling event on April 19 from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Texas Township Campus. The event is open to the public and everyone is welcome to participate.

There will be a $10 fee for recycling monitors and freon units and a $20 fee for
recycling televisions. Other electronics and EPS foam will be recycled for free.

Meet David Crosthwait, a pioneering innovator who used his inventions to design the HVAC systems for high-profile projects like Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall. He became the first Black fellow of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers in 1971 and held 119 patents in temperature-regulating technology during his lifetime!

Our modern energy industry would not be possible without Black inventors and scientists like Crosthwait. In honor of we’ll continue to highlight these important Black innovators who paved the way for today’s energy technology.
