Throwing it back to a fantastic project from 2019. The Au Sable home combines Montana nature with a modern lifestyle to create luxury living. Designed collaboratively between the homeowner and the Finmark team, the floor plan presents open space for entertaining, a perfect mudroom for convenience, and tall ceilings, giving this home an expansive feel.

Steel, timber, and reclaimed materials blend to give the house a crisp and clean modern feel and the rustic warmth of a home by the mountains. Montana Mountain Retreat

A few years back, we were presented with a unique opportunity to demolish an existing home while designing and building a custom rustic mountain home on the same property.

With the legacy home as the focal point, we also built two guest homes, one with a built-in shop and the other with a detached garage.

Situated near Flathead River on a large property, the spaces are nestled into the trees while offering incredible views of the Swan Range.

While we completed this home in 2020, we are still incredibly proud of our crew for taking this opportunity to build for an incredible family crafting their Montana legacy home.

➡️ Even Heat Distribution: Unlike traditional heating systems that rely on air circulation, radiant floor heating provides an even distribution of heat from the floor up.

Before laying down flooring, a gypsum-based self-leveling underlayment is poured, which serves several purposes:

➡️ Thermal Mass: Gyp-Crete has good thermal conductivity, helping to enhance the efficiency of the radiant heating system.

➡️ Leveling and Subfloor Preparation: Gyp-Crete is self-leveling, providing a suitable base for the floor covering, ensuring that heat is evenly distributed across the entire floor.

➡️ Fire Resistance: Gyp-Crete is fire-resistant, an important safety feature, especially in custom homes where fire safety is a priority.

➡️ Acoustic Benefits: Gyp-Crete can also contribute to sound insulation, reducing sound transmission between floors.
