2 layer tear off turned into a 3rd layer discovery 🥴

A few reasons multiple layers on a roof are not a good idea:

1. Extra weight; Note: the average 30-square roof uses 90 bundles of shingles, and a bundle of asphalt roofing shingles weighs about 100 pounds, which means you’re putting roughly 9,000 additional pounds of weight on your roof.

2. The layers can trap heat between themselves which can prematurely age the shingles. You want to get as much life out of your roof as possible.

3. Higher cost to replace in the future; each layer of a roof will cost money, when homeowners choose to roof over top of an old surface to save money in the short term they are creating a much higher bill down the road and jeopardizing the performance of their roof in the meantime.

Fly Roofing turned 4 this year! If you would have told us 4 years ago that we'd be tearing off a roof this big, well it'd be about everything we'd ever prayed for. Starting a business in 2020 was interesting, but we've seen God move over and over again through the years. We are incredibly grateful to build this business as a family, and we are thankful to our customers who choose to trust us with the roof over their heads. We still remember the first "yes" and about every one since then.

Excited to be adding seamless gutters to our services offered. Should be up and running this spring. Now we just need to find a van so we can look this sharp!
