I'll never get over sunsets, red rocks and greenery. My first love were the red rocks of the west. Now, when I'm lucky enough, I get to shoot engagement sessions and weddings in them.

This Montana Glacier National Park wedding was everything.

We started off with a sunrise first look and vow reading, followed by some amazing photographs at Big Bend and Weeping Wall. By that point, we had all been up for hours, and we needed an energy boost! So we stopped at Lake McDonald Lodge for some breakfast, just the four of us. We found the most beautiful meadow outside of the lodge and grabbed a few portraits by the lake as well. After all the portraits, it was time to make it official! With only the officiant and photographers present, Kristen and Konner officially tied the knot! Just as the ceremony finished up, a cloud of pouring rain emerged, and Kristen and Konner embraced the moment with full hearts.

Feeling so incredibly blessed to have experienced this small part in their love story and to be able to share it in photographs. Congratulations to the Bridgewaters!

My favorite thing about this sweet couple (besides Tayton's reaction during their first look) is the way that Hanna looks at her groom. The pure adoration in her eyes and joy on her face is enough to make me swoon. I love their love!

Occasionally I like to take a break from weddings and capture the cutest little families. Sara has the CUTEST vintage style and I love watching her thrifting hauls on her Instagram page and in her stories. When she posted this adorable Winnebago, I knew we had to bring it to their family session. It brings back so many memories of my little family when we lived in a camper. Feeling the nostalgia, and loving the 70s vibes. ✌

It was the end of a decade, but the start of an age….

Today is my actual birthday, but this weekend I celebrated by hosting a Death to My 20s funeral themed party, with some of my closest friends and family. Everyone wore black, there was a fun slideshow of photos from my youth and 20s, and I had a few people make some toasts and share some fun memories. It was a fun way to kick off a new decade. 🤍

In a weird way, inclement weather sort of brings people together. Your support system and vendors (if you’ve chosen some good ones😉) will go above and beyond for you, ensuring that your day is still the most beautiful and special it can be. My biggest advice - Be ready to throw all plans out the window, and go with the flow. Embrace the dramatic, beautiful chaos. Rain or shine - you get to marry the love of your life. That’s all that truly matters. So fully sit and be present with that. Whatever that looks like. If you do that, I can guarantee you’ll have the best day.

Besides… You can always book a bridal session on a later, less rainy day, if you really want those perfect bride and groom portraits. Who wouldn’t love to get all glammed up and wear their wedding dress a second time? 🫶🏻

We love a military wedding and a modern couple decked in classy vibes. 🫶🏻

Maybe I’m biased since my hubby is a veteran, but I absolutely love getting the opportunity to shoot weddings for military couples. It’s how I started this business almost 10 years ago! My first wedding was a military couple on the beach in North Carolina. In the 4 years we lived there I photographed everything from weddings to families to homecomings. I got to capture so many of life’s most beautiful moments and memories for so many couples that serve our country. I’m thankful for these roots. Nobody understands how important photos are better than a military family. 🫶🏻

And now - how funny that we’ve left the military life, and God still somehow brought us to a home in Leavenworth, KS of all places. I look forward to the many military couples and families I get to know and meet in my time here. 🤍

A few beautiful getting ready moments from Maddie and Gaige’s day…

I can still feel the quiet and sureness in these photos. At dinner Maddie’s dad shared a story about how she and Gaige followed in her parents footsteps by marrying her high school sweetheart - as did her sister before her. He encouraged her that just because they married their high school sweethearts, didn’t mean she had to. That she was free to create her own path. But when he thought about it, even her grandparents were high school sweethearts. “A family tradition, I suppose,” he said.

I can’t think of anything more profound... To witness Maddie and Gaige’s love, is to witness one beautiful thing - certainty. Their steadiness and unfailing love for one another. They chose each other, and they will continue choosing one another for the rest of their days.
