We are getting ready to supply the Northeast with more beautiful free-range, happy chicken eggs for 2022! Here’s sweet new mama Rosie, our blue-laced red Wyandotte, with her 9 chicks, her first brood. These babies will lay chocolate, blue-green, tan, white, and miniature eggs!

A lovely neighbor gave us a KC Star with an article from July 1997 about The Heim’s beginning stages of restoration! It’s amazing to see the dining room in its despair. Right now, it serves as a learning space full of children’s laughter and curiosity, and it will go back to it’s original glory as a classic dining room in future days!

We have new egg cartons for $1 that can become your BYOB. We are an immune-suppressed household with young kids, so please help us by distancing 🐊 or masking 😷 appropriately.
Below:
Our youngest child dust bathing with Arya, Sansa and Gem. Arya is a black copper marans and will start laying deep chocolate brown eggs soon. Sansa is a Welsummer and will start laying dark brown speckled eggs soon. These are two of the chicks in a previous photo posted with their mama Raven (not pictured). Gem 💎 (far right), a golden comet, is our resident digger who lays beautiful buff tan eggs.

Heim Beer is now available to go! This distillery exclusive beer, created by Kansas City Bier Company, is the only beer we serve. Heim Beer is a nod to the history of our building, finished in 1901 as the bottling house for the historic Heim Brewery which closed due to Prohibition.⁣

The section 11 symbol in the logo can be found carved into several places on our building. The symbol refers to the unwritten 11th rule of traditional German beer drinking culture, which translates loosely into “you will drink it again”. We are excited to in fact be drinking Heim Beer again!

A bust of Gertrude Heim, only daughter of Joseph Heim. Gertrude was a fashion queen who brought home a new wardrobe from Paris every spring. Her clothing was donated to Cornell University’s Fashion and Textile Collection! https://blogs.cornell.edu/cornellcostume/2015/01/19/two-purses-from-the-wardrobe-of-gertrude-heim-remey-2/
