When I popped out to the fabrication dept, I was thrilled to see three rugs making a statement with this darker yarn selection. The client specifically asked for a contrasting color, to have us pull from the "background" of our Porthos style. We worked on a few possibilities, samples were sent for approval & we ran with this. The choice did not disappoint!

Thursday ramble: 🌪 season. It's been wild weather here in the midwest for three weeks straight. We've counted our blessings for having minimal damage with each passing storm system. After the storms pass, the sky likes to show off with absolutely gorgeous clouds & sunsets. I pulled these swatches/colors today with these images still fresh from the past few days . I dont really have any other words to tie them together. 🤔 It was just there, persistent.
That, and, I thought my doggo looked gorgeous too 😜

Friday feature! Meet Dave. Today is his last day as he's retiring after 50 years. Yep, you read that correctly, 50 years!!! This gentle soul has been through all the growing pains, triumphs, and transitions of DMI. He was there at the beginning of it all with my Grandpa. He has so many good stories of those early days. Heck, I remember helping him handwrite bills of ladings during summers when I was in high school. He would always do what needed to get done, even if it meant staying late. Unloading trailer after trailer, shipping coordinator, fixer of all things, he's worn just about every hat in our facility. One thing that we all know about Dave is how proud he is of his kids & grandkids. And rightly so! Hes a huge fan of training/raising dogs, fishing & Friday night racing at a local dirt track. He will be missed, but we are all soooo excited for him . As he can now spend precious time with family & friends, doing the things that bring him joy. Cheers to you, DB! Thank you for everything ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️

Another nature inspired ramble. Winter really doesn't stop me from getting outside. I crave the fresh cold air, the soundlessness of a fresh fallen snow, the beauty of nature in her vulnerable & bare state. These toasty tones topped with soft creams bring feelings of comfort, warmth, and home.

I wasn't sure about this shade of green binding working well with our stunning wool in Belo Meadowlands. But something kept pushing me to give it a try...so I did, and I dig it.
With the arrival of fall, we are heavy into changing/dropping leaves along with cooler temps & consecutive days of gray skies.
I'm all for changing seasons, as each has certain elements I enjoy. But if you look for a pattern in my life, you'll find I always lean towards green. It's associated with growth, renewal, calmness, prosperity.
In my workspace here, you'll find sprinkled throughout, photographs with lush green hillsides, blue-green ocean views, along with green plants filling most of the corner spaces.
Green calms my brain, makes me pause & take a deep breath. Reminds me of time spent outside. Grounded. Balanced.
This border may not be the shade that works for you, and that's totally OK. We have other options for finishing this style. We can talk you through them & send samples to assist with selecting.

Fun facts: He was the last person that my Grandpa officially hired ( 32 years ago! 32!!!) He shows up everyday with a positive attitude & gets the work done, carefully & efficiently. He's a team player. He has a signature horn honk when maneuvering the forklift. He has given us all nicknames with detailed stories of how they came to be. He says hello to everyone daily & then proceeds to take a minute to ask how you are. ...
Facts of the heart: He's in year 36 of marriage to his sweetheart, one daughter that stole his heart & three grandchildren that he adores & spoils in the best ways. He has the most genuine laugh. He loves old school WWE. He's a gentle giant with a heart of gold. Thank you Doyle for all that you do!!
