How it all began...
Our story is a humble one. It began with Matt Moore and Chancie Adams, a pair of sailing buddies who enjoyed homebrewing. The duo had a dream of opening a craft brewery in Kansas City.
While the downtown renaissance and Crossroads revitalization were happening up north, Matt and Chancie looked south to the Martin City area. They purchased a small building on 135th Street in 2011, which would become Martin City Brewing Company’s Original Pub. It would still be a few years before MCBC released its first beer, but the wheels were already in motion.
The original pub is still going strong with a wide selection of craft beers, burgers, sandwiches, salads and more. We even built a patio and started hosting live music on the weekends. Right across the street, you’ll find our brewery and second restaurant location - The Pizza & Taproom.
We’ve since opened another Pizza & Taproom in Overland Park in the Mission Farms neighborhood and our newest spot in Lee’s Summit. It’s been really exciting to bring our beer and food to the amazing people of Kansas City and beyond.
