Videos by Shelter KC: A Kansas City Rescue Mission in Kansas City. Shelter KC is a Kansas City Rescue Mission helping Kansas City’s homeless men and women experience freedom from the past and hope for the future. We believe the love of Jesus Christ changes lives. We've seen it happen here every day since 1950.
The heatwave is here in Kansas City and temperatures are soaring past the 90’s and reaching dangerous levels. Here at Shelter KC, we are keeping our homeless neighbors hydrated with cold water and shelter from the heat. With your help we can provide a lifeline to those struggling to survive in the heat. And you can start with a simple bottle of water.
God Bless!

Our final Core Value is Dignity of the Individual Mary, Case Manager at our Women’s Center, explains how we treat everyone who comes through our doors with dignity. This means getting them clothing, a shower, treating them with kindness, making them feel safe, and so much more. If you would like to learn more about our Core Values and Shelter KC, head to our website www.shelterkc.org #shelterkc #corevalues #dignityoftheindividual
Next up in our Core Values Series is Transformational Growth. Listen as Cordellia, our Women’s Center Director, explains what this value means to her and to those that we serve. Want to learn more about our Core Values? Head to www.shelterkc.org
With the rising cost of groceries and other necessities, more people are coming to Shelter KC for help this summer than ever before, stretching each dollar to its limit. Hundreds of meals will be served each day this month to hungry men and women. And meals are only the beginning! Your gift also helps provide emergency shelter, education, counseling, discipleship, and programs that help rebuild lives. Please join us, and let’s fight hunger together this summer! God bless you!
Summer heat can be dangerous for men and women experiencing homelessness. Help Shelter KC continue to care for those in need this summer! #ShelterKC #homeless #makeadifference #helpingthehomeless #donation
There won’t be a tree, garland, or presents. Instead, there will be hearty meals, safe shelter, and changed lives! For neighbors who are hungry and homeless, these are the greatest gifts of all. Most of Shelter KC’s annual support comes during the Christmas season. During the summer, our resources are often pushed to the limit. It would be a blessing to know NOW that we have the resources needed to feed, shelter and help people in need this summer. I pray you’ll continue to help by making a gift today, a second in July, and another in August. Or make all three gifts today. Thank you for saving and changing lives through your partnership! God bless you!
Up first in our Core Values series, is Christ Centered. We want to spread the love, forgiveness, and transformation that Christ brings to everyone who comes through our doors. Many of the men and women who come through our doors are at the lowest point in their lives, so knowing that Christ loves them so deeply, even at this point, can be life changing. Listen as Jonathan, Lead Recovery Coach, and Ken, a Frontline Coach who went through our CCOR program, describe in their words what it means to be Christ Centered. To learn more about Shelter KC and our Core Values, head to our website www.sheltering.org
Over the next month, we are going to share more about our Core Values and how we see them being shown every day here at Shelter KC. Tune in to hear about each one, and see some faces of staff you may not know!
