Jewelry creations. Throughout my life I’ve enjoyed making things. Before I was ten, I learned how to crochet, embroider, and sew from my grandmother.
I also learned how to use tools (power tools included) from my father to make items out of wood. I really enjoy creating things, but I found as I got older, I spent less time creating – and I missed it. When my last fulltime job was eliminated. I made time to create while I looked for a new job. I now work part-time in a public library, and I enjoy it very much. And I’ve kept my promise to myself
to make time to create. I have many creative interests but mainly create jewelry – necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. I use various materials in my jewelry, including acrylic, metal, resin, semi-precious gemstones, wood, paper and glass. I really like the way glass makes light dance, so I’ve used glass in creating other things. I’ve used glass beads and artistic wire in the creation of plant hangers, wind chimes and garden tags. I have also used repurposed glass items to make windchimes and birdbaths. I’ve taken two classes on making lampwork (glass) beads, and on every other aspect of making my jewelry and garden items, I’m self-taught. Why Windstorm Designs? For several reasons.
