When the middle of the week hits and we need a break from work and some comfort food, we ALWAYS go to @gusfriedchickenkc 🐔 We like to get here right when they open at 11AM to beat the never ending lunch crowd. Plus, we love the service here and the lunch waitresses are truly so welcoming and fast, that we know this is the perfect time to come. Onto the food! You can’t really beat fried chicken that is seasoned, juicy and crispy all at the same time. Especially when they have all different combo meals, you can pretty much get whatever you want. For me, I’m a sides queen. I go a la carte and get a white and a dark peice of chicken and then a small side of everything they have. What can I say, I ❤️ sides! Mac & Cheese: Gooey, cheesy, creamy. ✔️ Fried Okra: Bite sized and dipped in Ranch 🤤 ✔️ Baked Beans: A tangy sweetness with a kick ✔️ Coleslaw: Creamy and freshly made, not soggy ✔️ Greens: They were that good, we drank the juices ✔️ Potato Salad: My favorite of all the sides ✔️ If that wasn’t enough, we finished with a peice of toasted coconut pie and a good ol’ fashioned root beer float. Note: We go to the location on 47th Street in KCK. They do have two other locations around the KC area, including one in Lees Summit and off 151st Street in OP.
