Born to reign in us FOREVER. Today's word is "forever."
Trinity Family,
We are excited about our Candlelight Christmas Eve service, Sunday at 6 pm! Pastor TIno will conclude our Advent series by looking at the shepherds, who were some of the first people to receive this Christmas message. We’ll unpack how this helps us understand the significance of the birth of Jesus. We encourage you to invite a friend and join us in person. It’s going to be a beautiful evening.
We’ll also have a small service on Sunday morning at our regular time, 10:30 am. We’ll sing a couple of hymns, offer communion, and have fellowship with some light refreshments. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday in person or online.
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is GIVEN . . . " - Isaiah 9:6 NIV
Trinity Family,
The last couple of weeks we’ve been looking at these supporting characters in the Christmas story such as Zacharia and Herod. This Sunday Pastor Tino be preaching on the story of the Magi—the wise men. The wise men may be among the least understood characters in the Christmas story and that’s what I love about this part of the story.
According to Matthew, God chose to invite a group of foreigners, priests, of a different religion, to share in the joy of Jesus’ birth. What can we learn from them in this season of Advent? We’ll unpack this and more Sunday morning.

Trinity Family,
We continue with our Advent sermon series this Sunday on King Herod. King Herod is known by most as the villain for his role in the Christmas story in Matthew 2. Afraid of losing the throne to a “newborn king of the Jews,” Herod tried to manipulate the three wise men into telling him where to find the rumored child; when that didn’t work, he ordered the killing of Bethlehem’s baby boys.
But there’s a lot more to Herod than just this one scene. Herod’s life is a Hollywood blockbuster waiting to happen. And yet, what might Herod, I, and possibly you have in common? We’ll unpack some of this on Sunday morning.

This weekend begins the season of Advent—a season the Christian Church has marked for centuries in anticipation of Christ’s coming at Christmas. Advent is a word that literally means “to arrive” or “to come” and the season of Advent is a 4-week spiritual journey we take leading to Christmas.
Our Advent sermon series is called, “An Unexpected Advent.” Each week we will look at the story of Christmas through the lens of some of the often-overlooked characters in the Nativity story. This weekend we’ll look at the story of Elizabeth and Zechariah and see what they have to teach us about living with hope. We’ll sing both the great Advent carols (O Come, O Come Emmanuel, Come Thou Long Expected Jesus and others) and celebrate holy communion.

TAKE A LOOK!
Thank you Abby Dodge and KSHB 41 for talking with us Sunday and highlighting our incredible pastor, Rev. Tino Herrera during !!!
Via :
“In his role as a leader in the community, he’s been a positive light to families who understand his struggle.
“She (member) goes, ‘You have no idea what it’s like for my kids to see someone that looks like them,’” Herrera said.
Herrera said he carries that moment with him frequently. Moving forward, he hopes to use his heritage to be an example to other Latino children in Kansas City.
“They matter ... they have worth,” he said. “They are significant, and their gifts are far and beyond and can impact anything and everyone. That is something I wish I was hearing when I was young.”
