Yesterday our fellow students Jailyn 12G, Evan 12B, and Ethan 10B played together with Acapulcos Nido Águila team. Jailyn and Evan were able to help and make a difference!! Ethan came in with the only goal for Acapulco in the 3-1 loss against Oaxaca. Today Evan and Jailyn will play with their categories.

I’m going to jump in on this one.

The USWNT can have the greatest team in the world, and outcompete anyone who try’s to stand in their way, but yesterday they stood in their own way. FÚTBOL has been proven to be dominated by the smartest not the fastest and strongest. If we think back at the dominant players of the past, just look at what made them great!

Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Kroos Neymar, and Modric to name a few of the greats who with their style of play and with high IQ have stood out and made a difference with club and country.

What I’m trying to say is, if you have the athletes, train them well and build smart players out of them. Stop trying to win by using what they have, and start teaching them to use their strengths with new skills and field awareness.

Yesterday playing under this gorgeous sky, and subsequently under the lights for the first time this soccer season.

Happy to have been able to play Best of the Best at San Diego Surf Cup was a blessing. Coming out here and competing for something bigger than just a game! Our players showed up and played hard. We were able to compete and showed that we belonged. Starting the season knowing we can be up here with the best is our first step!

We honor and will keep playing for Victoria our DKSC sister.

Losing 3-1 after a great first half stung a little bit. Girls did great, but we became our own worst enemy. We need to keep competing and sticking to our style of play. Heads up Ladies we are in a marathon, not a sprint.

When you coach, teach or build any type of group that you are supper vested in, it’s hard not to love your team, players, students!! These girls are a huge part of me and fill in lots of spots in my heart 😊🥰😎
