This roast has a beautiful origin story!
Unión Ramal Santa Cruz was founded in 2001 by Professor Cruz José Arguello Miceli. Confronted with the historically low C Market during this time, producers were becoming desperate. Professor Cruz helped to form the union with the primary goal of improving the livelihoods and production of small coffee producers in the municipality of La Concordia. Belonging to this union requires certain rules of tolerance and acceptance of collective decision making. Currently Ramal Santa Cruz has 492 members, of which 177 are women. The quality of the coffee is impacted by their organization, dedication to picking only ripe cherries, and to environmental factors.
Most producers in this area are growing coffee under shade. In conjunction with more than 12 types and sub types of vegetation, the dense fog and heavy rains in this area, and the mountainous landscapes, makes it an ideal place for premium quality.

Frontier Fuel: a Dark Bold roast made from hard to source Robusta beans that gives it its own unique flavor.

We have recently upgraded our Point of Sale system at Red Leaf to a faster and more efficient system to better help our customers and staff!

With this upgrade we have lost access to the older Red Leaf gift cards powered by the older Lavu system. These Lavu gift cards are approaching 4 years old and as of August 31st will no longer be accepted at Red Leaf

So how do you know if you have one of these older gift cards? If you look at the second picture posted the the upper right hand corner on the back of the card it will say “Powered by Lavu” please send us a message on any of or social media platforms and we will check the balance of these cards and get them transferred to a current card!
